Pretty epic color with this evening’s sunset 🌅🌅

Monday is starting off beautiful in most spots, but it won't stay that way. Clouds increase this afternoon with rain arriving late this afternoon or this evening. Rain will be steady, heavy at times overnight, especially along the coast and in southern Maine. Some spots could see well over an inch of rain and an isolated instance of flash flooding couldn't be ruled out. Don't be surprised if a rumble of thunder wakes you up too. Northern Maine and the mountains get a lot less rain. Rain ends tomorrow AM, beautiful weather returns Tuesday evening.

Wrapping up the best Portland Pride weekend! Was so fun to walk in the parade with the News Center crew on Saturday, thanks to everyone who said hi! Spent Sunday out on Peaks Island and wrapped up the weekend with a stunning boat ride back to Portland. Even though we were dodging storms most of the day was beautiful ☀️

NBC5 meteorologists believe a tornado touched down in Woodstock, Vermont. We have analyzed many damage photos. A rotation signature was visible above Woodstock. Trees are sheared off. Thousands of outages. National Weather Service storm survey needed for more detail.

Solid Wednesday spent mostly on Little Sebago Lake ☀️⛵️

Caught an awesome view of this evening’s triple planetary conjunction on my walk back to work from dinner this evening. Mercury was pretty hard to see, it’s super faint- but Jupiter and Venus are very bright in the evening sky!

I think it would have been a lot more noticeable if it was July, but it’s been a notably warm start to June! For Portland, second warmest on record through the first half of the month. Definitely feels like we dove right into the heart of summer which has been awesome after the long, cold winter.

The first half of June ranks second warmest on record in Portland. The real heat and humidity are taking a break for a bit though, so we'll see how the second half of the month plays into the final ranking.
