It breaks our hearts 💔

Because honestly? We thought someone would have scooped him up by now.

Spock is everything people say they want in a dog.

A stunning Cane Corso. A giant goofball. A 110-pound lap dog who somehow believes personal space is optional.

At just a year and a half old, Spock has already experienced more heartbreak than he deserved. He was abandoned and left to fend for himself, his ears crudely butchered by someone who failed him long before rescue found him.

But Spock never let that change who he is.

Despite everything, his heart remains enormous.

He lives for affection. Full-body pets. Belly rubs. Leaning all 110 pounds into you because being close is never close enough. His zoomies are legendary, and watching this giant boy race around with pure joy is impossible not to smile at.

He’s wonderful with children, gets along well with other dogs, and even tolerates the antics of cattle dogs without complaint. The only thing we ask is that feeding time be managed separately from other dogs, as he can be protective of his food.

As for cats? He hasn’t been tested, but based on his temperament, we believe a slow, proper introduction would give him every chance to succeed.

Spock doesn’t know he’s a “big dog.”

He just knows he wants someone to love.

Someone to lean on.

Someone to follow from room to room.

Someone to call family.

And after everything he’s been through, we think it’s finally time he found one.

A terrible announcement 💔

Not because Luna found a home.

Not because she got adopted.

Not because her happy ending finally arrived.

But because after everything she’s been through…

She’s still waiting.

💔

A mother dog tied to a gas station.

Still producing milk.

Still searching for puppies that would never be found.

Abandoned by the people she trusted. Left alone, confused, and heartbroken.

The shelter swallowed what was left of her.

Day after day, Luna disappeared behind kennel bars.

The light in her eyes faded.

The world got smaller.

Quieter.

For a while, it looked like Luna was giving up.

And honestly?

Who could have blamed her?

She had lost everything.

Her family.

Her puppies.

Her home.

Her sense of safety.

The dog she once was seemed gone.

But Luna’s story didn’t end there.

Someone saw her.

Someone believed there was still a dog worth saving beneath the fear, grief, and heartbreak.

And slowly, Luna began to come back.

She lost over 20 pounds. Her painful allergies were finally treated. Her skin healed. Her body healed.

And little by little, her heart did too.

Today, Luna is everything the shelter never got the chance to show the world.

She’s intelligent.

She’s loyal.

She’s playful.

She’s affectionate.

She carries her toys around proudly. She loves walks, sunshine, enrichment games, and spending time with the people she loves.

Most of all, she loves deeply.

But Luna doesn’t give her trust away freely anymore.

Life taught her that people leave.

So she takes her time.

She needs patience.

Understanding.

A family willing to let her feel safe before asking her to give her heart away again.

And that’s why Luna is still waiting.

Not because she’s a bad dog.

Not because she’s difficult.

Not because she’s unworthy.

She’s waiting because the family she’s meant for hasn’t found her yet.

The family that understands healing isn’t always instant.

The family that knows love is something you build.

The family that will never leave her tied somewhere and walk away.

Luna survived abandonment.

She survived losing her puppies.

She survived the shelter.

She survived being forgotten.

Now she just needs someone to finally choose her.

Because despite everything she’s overcome, Luna still goes to sleep every night without a family of her own.

And after everything she’s survived…

That might be the saddest part of her story.

Could you be the happy ending she’s been waiting for?

We are happy to introduce Luke Kornblatt as our Mission Manager 🎉

Luke officially came on board the Stooges team a few weeks ago and is not putting on the brakes! He’s taken the reins of helping 3SR reach immediate goals, long-term goals, expanding programs, and doing what we do best — finding furever homes for special doggy pals!

His passion for animals aligns greatly with our mission, and we are proud to have him a part of the family! 💗🐾

Featured with Luke is sweet Esther, saved from euthanasia just before Easter 2026. She’s a doll of a pup with a special need — a home where she is the only pet princess!

Although sweet with people, and very few dogs her size or larger, Esther has an exceptionally high preydrive. We’ve thankfully found the key to her success — medication to take the edge off of her drive enthusiasm, and truly taking the time to learn her needs.

She doesn’t ask for much!
🐾 a comfy couch to lounge
🐾 her person’s lap to snuggle up
🐾 and a nice, fenced yard to exercise her brain and keep her in shape

While we are big advocates for not automatically labeling dogs “only dogs”, Esther is one that will thrive best as just that.

Make her your world and she will give that love back 10x over 💗

We can’t contain our excitement any longer! 🥹😍

FOUR DOGS. ONE DAY. FOUR NEW BEGINNINGS. 💗🎉

Tuesday was one of those days that reminds us why we keep going.

After everything they’ve been through, Tyson, Rita, Eli, and Patches all found their forever homes in a single day.

Four dogs.
Four families.
Four lives changed forever.

Tyson finally found the family he had been waiting for after 4+ years.

Rita’s lifetime of kennel living is officially over after 5 years.

Eli, after years of setbacks, medical challenges, and waiting, is finally home after 2+ years.

And sweet Patches gets the fresh start every dog deserves.

These moments don’t happen by accident. They happen because people foster, volunteer, donate, share posts, tell their friends, and believe that every dog deserves a second chance.

To everyone who supported these dogs along the way: thank you.

Today there are four empty spaces in our rescue.

And while we’ll miss these faces terribly, there is no better reason for an empty kennel.

Happy tails, Tyson, Rita, Eli, and Patches. 🐾❤️

Your next chapter starts now.

The appointment was made.

At 14 years old, Madison’s life was supposed to end.

Not because she was sick.

Not because she was suffering.

Because her family was having a baby.

💔

After 14 years of loyalty, love, and devotion, Madison’s future had been reduced to a date on a calendar.

A healthy dog.

A good dog.

A dog who had spent her entire life loving her family.

And her reward was going to be euthanasia.

Thankfully, someone spoke up.

Someone gave Madison a chance.

And today, this sweet senior girl is still here.

Still wagging her tail.

Still making people laugh.

Still investigating every smell she can find.

Still proving every single day that she has so much life left to live.

The thing about Madison is that she doesn’t know how close she came.

She doesn’t know there was a plan to end her story.

She just wakes up every morning believing that maybe today will be the day someone falls in love with her.

Maybe today will be the day she gets a family again.

Maybe today will be the day someone sees past the gray hairs and the number 16.

Because Madison is so much more than a senior dog.

She’s resilient.

She’s funny.

She’s athletic.

She’s independent.

She’s loyal.

And despite everything she’s been through, she still chooses to trust people.

We saved Madison’s life.

Now we need to help her find a reason to keep celebrating it.

🏡 If you’ve ever considered adopting a senior, please consider Madison.

Because the dog who almost lost everything deserves to spend her remaining years knowing exactly how loved she is.

Please share.

Let’s make sure Madison’s story doesn’t end with the family that gave up on her.

Let’s help her find the family that never will. ❤️🐾

It’s over. 🥺💔

After years of loyalty, years of being there when his family needed him most, Max’s journey has finally come to an end.

No more waiting.

No more wondering.

No more being overlooked.

No more watching younger dogs get chosen while he sits quietly in the background.

No more wondering if anyone will ever see him.

Because the truth is, Max has already lost everything once.

When his owner became too ill to care for him, Max found himself saying goodbye to the only life he’d ever known. At 10 years old, he entered rescue carrying his favorite things: good manners, a gentle heart, and the hope that someone might still want him.

But month after month, the applications never came.

The phone never rang.

The kennel door never opened for his family.

And for many senior dogs, that’s where the story ends.

But not for Max.

Because today, we’re ending something else.

We’re ending the idea that senior dogs are less deserving.

We’re ending the belief that age makes a dog less valuable.

We’re ending Max’s wait.

Somewhere out there is the family he’s been waiting for. The couch with his name on it. The person who will see those goofy ears, that giant smile, and the hopeful look in his eyes and realize he’s been waiting for them, too.

Max is housebroken. Crate trained. Wonderful with kids. Loves companionship. And after everything he’s been through, he still wakes up every day believing his person is coming.

Every day, Max greets the world with the same smile.

Every day, he acts like today might be the day his family finally finds him.

After everything he’s lost, he still hasn’t given up.

We hope you won’t either.

We have some heartbreaking news about Rita. 💔

She wasn’t chosen.

Again.

And again.

And again.

For five years, people have walked past dogs like Rita.

They’ve picked puppies.
They’ve picked younger dogs.
They’ve picked dogs with flashy stories and endless energy.

But somehow, Rita is still here.

Still waiting.

Still wondering when it will finally be her turn.

What makes this so heartbreaking isn’t that Rita had a family and lost them.

It’s that she never got one to begin with.

Imagine spending your entire life watching everyone else get picked.

Watching everyone else leave.

Watching everyone else get their happy ending.

While your life stays exactly the same.

Rita isn’t asking for much.

She doesn’t need hiking adventures.
She doesn’t need endless toys.
She doesn’t need to be the center of attention.

She just wants someone to come back for her.

Someone who sees past her shy exterior and realizes there’s a sweet, loyal girl underneath who has spent her entire life waiting to belong.

Five years.

That’s 1,825 days of waiting.

And somehow, Rita still hasn’t given up on people.

Maybe that’s why we haven’t given up on her.

Please share Rita. Currently located at Inn of the dog in Stuart, FL 📍

Let’s make sure the next time someone chooses a dog…

they choose the one who’s been waiting the longest.
