The Empty Continent Universe has evolved into an alternate historical fiction that explores our humanity from a very different evolutionary paths.
This chapter depicts persecution, forced displacement, and the abandonment of people deemed “different”—including the elderly, disabled, the uniquely gifted, and people distinguished by skin tone, gait, language, appearance, or the countless human qualities that make each of us unique—as well as the dignity, resilience, and human connection that emerge in response.
All characters, institutions, and events depicted are fictional. Any resemblance to actual persons, living or deceased, or to characters from other works of fiction, is coincidental.
Political allegory, violence, cruelty, prejudice, and other difficult themes are elements of this fictional world and its exploration of the human experience.
