Some of us change the batteries on our smoke detectors every year like clock work. Some of us wait until they start chirping at us, take the battery out and set it on the counter. I know I have done both of these things.

We completed the first assembly of this beautiful cedar sauna by Nootka Saunas. After finishing we delivered another sauna that the customer is going to assemble.

What caught my attention was seeing customers excited about their saunas. I could see the joy in the customer eyes and expressing themselves with gusto.

Do you know when the last time your dryer vent was cleaned out? Has it ever been cleaned?

If you notice it takes longer to dry your clothes your vent may be clogged or restricted. If you are running the dryer 2 or 3 cycles or your clothes are warm but not dry and you regularly clean the lint trap check your vent first. Bad weather is coming. Do you know when the last time your gutters were cleaned? Snow can get caught in your gutters and cause damage to your gutters by adding excessive weight and water damage to your home if your gutters are clogged causing water to overflow onto your facia or places water wouldn't normally go.

Starting 2024 I will be a full time handyman. After more than 15 years I am stepping away from aviation maintenance to return to the construction industry. It has been a career that has taught me a lot of skills as well as some incredible life experiences.
