Gambler 500 action!
Managed to fit the Detroit Gambler 500 into the calendar! After a wonderful day of Gamblerprep on Friday, including noting that I'd need new rear brakes "soon", I noticed a grinding sound on the way to the kickoff Saturday morning. Well at least I was already planning on driving right by my house!
It was great to be able to see some old friends and share a brief adventure!
People are really raising the stakes with Gambler cars: upgrading to 4x4s and luxury cheater class! There were some great rides out there.

And to the as****es at camp blowing off fireworks that sounded like a 16 inch naval cannon from 2:00-4:00AM... Don't be a dick.

Remember that it's very dry in St. Helen so there's elevated fire danger. Control your stuff and have extra water.
Also, it's going to get down to 36 degrees tonight.

Well! HPDE it is! But I think given that I'm both a bad driver AND a moron, I should be able to RallyCross the Fiero.

A good decision by Ford management! Perhaps my appeal to CEO Jim Farley to overrule the plan announced by Ford Land to remove Carroll Shelby's name from one of the streets Ford's corporate campus in Dearborn played a part.
I have to clarify that I'm an employee so you don't think that I'm just naturally making this observation about Ford doing the right thing, so you can decide for yourself how to evaluate the legitimacy of my statement.
Hey, when I joined the program I said I'd keep it real. Well, Ford Land pi**es me off on a regular basis. This is just one part of the most recent set of things they've done to anger me. And that's what it's like being an insider at Ford.
We'll see how much longer this program and I get along in light of all the new legal rules participants have been given to follow. Lawyers ruin everything.
