Dear Forever Family,

I have a lot to tell you. I hope you have a few minutes. 🤍

My name is Melanie Rose and I was found abandoned outside a building with nothing but food left behind by a kind stranger. I don't know how long I was there. I try not to think about it too much because what happened next was so much better.

Everglades Angels found me. And from that day forward I have never had to face anything alone again.

I am 8 years old, which means I have a lot of love stored up and I am very ready to give all of it to you. I love walks - genuinely, enthusiastically, every single time. I love stuffed animals and I take very good care of them. I love cuddles more than almost anything in the world and I am exceptionally good at them. I am told I am the biggest cuddle bug anyone here has ever met and I accept that title with full sincerity. 🛋️

I am potty trained and great in the car and fine on my own when I need to be. I have done a lot of hard things and I have handled all of them with more grace than anyone had a right to expect.

All I need now is you. A patient home. A soft couch. Someone who understands that 8 years old is not too old - it is just the right age to finally get everything I deserve. 💚

I have been waiting long enough. I think you have too.

💔 AZALEA NEEDS US NOW. 💔
As many of our followers know, Everglades Angels took in a critically injured American Bulldog on Monday after she was hit by a motorcycle and left for dead in Opa-Locka, Miami.

Her medical condition is extensive, and her fight is far from over.
Azalea has undergone an MRI with a neurologist and is currently in intensive care. She is unable to walk and is receiving IV fluids. Her injuries include severe nerve damage, with nerves torn from her spinal column, and her leg is so badly injured that it will need to be amputated.

💔 YES, YOU READ THAT RIGHT — AZALEA NEEDS TO HAVE HER LEG AMPUTATED.

But please don't let that be the end of her story.
Azalea is only 2 years old. With the proper medical care, rehabilitation, and lots of love, she can still have a full and happy life — even as a three-legged dog. 🐾❤️

🌿 Independent living experience: 10/10 - extensive, unsupervised, plant nursery setting. He has range.
🤝 Human trust building: 10/10 - started from absolute zero and is now charming every single person he meets. The growth is unmatched.
😄 Easygoing nature: 10/10 - no restrictions, no drama, gets along with everyone. The most low-maintenance glow-up in rescue history.
🛋️ Old soul energy: 10/10 - give him a cozy spot and a good toy and he is completely, perfectly set
🐾 Toy appreciation: 10/10 - finds one, chews it thoughtfully, repeats. A simple man with excellent priorities.
😎 General coolness: 10/10 - walked out of a plant nursery in the Redlands and into everyone's hearts without breaking a sweat

Overall rating: A perfect 10/10 for a calm, loving home that appreciates a dog who has already done all the hard work of becoming exactly who he was meant to be. 💚

Pablo thinks about certain things constantly. Like, all the time. Without being asked. During playtime. During meals. During the quiet moments when a five-month-old puppy who has lived his entire life in rescue wonders what comes next.

🏡 A yard - what it smells like, what it feels like under his paws, what it would be like to have one that belongs to him. He thinks about this a lot.
🛋️ A couch that is his - not a kennel, not a shared space, but an actual couch with an actual person on it who came home to him specifically. He thinks about this every single day.
🐾 That one play session last week that was genuinely his best work - the zoomies, the energy, the pure joy of it. He wants to do that in a backyard someday.
😄 His forever person - patient, active, ready for a hound mix puppy who has so much love stored up and nowhere to put it yet
🤍 The life that is waiting for him out there - he has spent every single one of his 150+ days imagining it and he is so ready for it to begin 💚

He has never known anything but rescue. It is time for that to change.
