Tri-Rail is Southeast Florida’s commuter rail line, which extends 72 miles from Miami to Mangonia Park with a total of 18 stations. The name refers to the three counties through which the line passes: Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a Public Hearing will be held by the Governing Board of the South Florida Regional Transportation Authority (“SFRTA”) to obtain input on the proposed fare increases for the Tri-Rail Commuter Rail Service. The Public Hearing will be held on June 26, 2026 at 9:30 a.m. in the SFRTA Board Room at 801 NW 33rd Street, Pompano Beach, FL 33064. All interested individuals and/or groups are invited to attend this meeting and will have an opportunity to present their views and comments, or have their written comments considered by the Board. Those who wish to comment may do so by either emailing [email protected], calling 1-800-Tri-Rail or mailing their written comments to the SFRTA at the address above. The proposed fare changes include the following:
• A 10% increase to all one-way and round-trip tickets
• Rounding all adjusted fares to the nearest whole dollar
• Adjustment to 12 trip fares based on the revised one-way fare structure
• An increase to the regional monthly pass to $165
• No change to the existing $5 weekend flat fare
Those wishing to review or obtain a copy of any materials pertaining to this public hearing may contact the Executive Office at (954) 788-7919; if hearing impaired, telephone (800) 955-8771 (TTY 711) for assistance. All written comments will be entered into the official records of the public hearing. Persons wishing to address the Governing Board are requested to complete an “Appearance Card” and will be limited to three (3) minutes.
In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 286.26, Florida Statutes, persons with disabilities needing special accommodation to participate in this proceeding must, at least 48 hours prior to the meeting, provide a written request directed to the Executive Office at 801 NW 33rd Street, Pompano Beach, FL 33064, or telephone (954) 942-7245 for assistance; if hearing impaired, telephone (800) 955-8771 (TTY 711) for assistance.
Any person who decides to appeal any decision made by SFRTA’s Governing Board with respect to any matter considered at this hearing, will need a record of the proceedings, and that, for such purpose, he/she may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.
Unless amended, this notice will serve as the final fare changes for Tri-Rail passengers.
