TVAR cooperates with area shelters and rescue groups, primarily the East County Animal Shelter, to provide homeless animals with socialization, foster homes, medical care and an opportunity for a second chance. 🐕 Nutmeg is playful and full of fun! She is a more active dog who loves to run and play and would be a great exercise or adventure buddy! She can be a bit reserved when she first meets someone new, but give her a moment, and she will show her sweet side! She was brought to the East County Animal Shelter on 4/25/26 after being found in unincorporated San Leandro (Hillcrest Knolls).
🐕 Nutmeg is approximately one year old and currently weighs about 50 pounds. She has been vaccinated and will be spayed and microchipped before going to her new home. Her adoption fee is $35, plus licensing (if applicable). The cost of her spay surgery will be sponsored! Nutmeg qualifies for Fluffy Dog Friday! Adopt her on a Friday, and the East County Animal Shelter will waive her adoption fee too!

😺Ted is a male Domestic Shorthair kitten who is approximately two months old. He was brought to our shelter on 7/10/26 after being found in unincorporated Hayward. Ted hasn't been reclaimed by his previous person, so he's now looking for a new home! Ted has started his kitten vaccinations. He will be neutered and microchipped before going to his new home. Ted's adoption fee is $35, plus the cost of his neuter surgery.
