Mr. NoteWordy
Words, words, words, and LOTS of music.
I don't know why I do that thing with my lips while I'm concentrating, but here's a little banjo tune I wrote and want to remember.
Hey everyone! An old man is talking!
Here's some free advice from a pro musician.
Here’s a rehearsal take of “Make Me Smile” by Chicago with my band Vinyl 73.
Working on some new music to release, and I am blessed beyond compare to have friends who are THIS insanely talented. .iyannna you are amazing.
A little tiny song from some dude in Utah.
Closer by The Chainsmokers. Ukulele instrumental cover, via loop pedal. I also put down a bass track beforehand, so you're not crazy of you heard notes that aren't possible on the uke. And man, do I make some weird faces...
Basd!

Bass for tonight's gig. And I thought the outfit was cool. It's nice to wear something other than pit black again.

Ok, look.
I HATED leaving my tour. I was so sad to leave my road family. It was genuinely one of the most emotionally taxing things I've done to leave fifty or so people whom I've grown to love through the soaring highs, harrowing lows, tedious travel, and endless novelty that is tour life in a rock and roll centered Broadway show.
But.
I really really LOVE being back home in my own studio. I missed MY guitars. My amps. My keyboards and organ. My recording setup. My basses, banjos, ukulele, drums, and mandolins. My record collection. These little relics of my life that tell a story of a time and place where I drifted in and out.
Friends are kind of like objects orbiting a star. Some are planets; constant companions that stay close. Some keep circling, but at a greater distance. Others are comets that get really close for a short amount of time, burn bright, but then leave and take years or decades to come around again. If they ever do.
Right now I'm grateful that so many amazing artists and professionals have entered my orbit, and I'm also very grateful to be in my own place again.
Hopefully, and soon, I'll drift back into tour life for a while. But even if I don't, I will always cherish the time I traveled among the stars.
Oh, how brightly they burned!
