Irish Raider Charters Lake Champlain

Perry from Philadelphia area brought his son in law and grandson out for an evening run with us today. After searching our waypoints to find fish that wanted to close the chasing game on the Garmin’s, it was on like Donkey Kong with several fish jumping into the net. Fun run getting the lads they’re first ever lake trout!! Winner Winner Trout for Dinner!!

Will was definitely 💯 the smallie whisper on the 6 hour run today!! He smoked his father in numbers and size!! This lad lost two hogs pushing 5lbs that would’ve been his PB.

This Capt is heading out tomorrow morning on a solo recon run to a gravel/sand and weedy flat we stumbled up this morning. 💯 some really nice fish cruising this flat. Definitely a spot I never considered in the past.

Had the opportunity to check out the new SUNY Plattsburgh research boat today at the fuel dock at Valcour Island Marina. What a beautiful vessel with the latest technology!! The Captain and his crew allowed me onboard to check her out! Awesome resource for the college and mariners on the lake to check out real time conditions on the water.

The crew informed the Legendary First mate of the Juniper, Eric Pabst and myself that they installed a live stream video camera on the Valcour buoy. Can you say selfies with lake trout 🤔.

Full day today on Champlain with a morning charter & then afternoon run with fishermen from Quebec.

Adam and his fishing buddy dropped the hammer on several really nice fish on the am run. Couple fish in the double digits!!

Patrick picked up the afternoon run an carried the 🇨🇦 fishing day to the end. Caught his PB lake trout with several other fish to the boat. I do believe both groups became addicted to the Garmin Live Scope non stop action on our waypoints!!!!

The Castaway Honey Bear Team enjoyed a successful second day at the Rotary Fishing Derby on Lake Champlain. We methodically covered familiar territories spanning from North Hero to Nancy's Garden in Willsboro, targeting larger fish. Notably, during our final waypoint, we experienced a consistent two-hour period of catching fish weighing between 8.75 and 10 pounds. We were constantly shy of placing in the top 5 by a few ounces with several fish. However, having over a 50 fish day we had a blast!!!
Day 3 starts tomorrow at 0500 hrs.

So the Ole Rugby Prop from Ottawa brought the cold Canadian air down along with Mark for the morning fishing run.
