What difference can six treatments make?

Presented at ATS 2026, this case study highlights a novel application of the combined use of Monaghan Medical's VersaPAP® and AEROBIKA® OPEP devices in a severe COPD exacerbation complicated by refractory atelectasis.

The case demonstrates the potential of combining tandem lung expansion and airway clearance therapies in challenging respiratory care situations, where conventional therapy just isn't enough.

Presented at last month's American Thoracic Society Conference, this quality improvement initiative explored the use of VersaPAP® therapy to help reduce post-operative pulmonary complications in cardiovascular surgery patients.

Over the course of the pilot, serial chest radiographs showed resolution of atelectasis within 24–48 hours in compliant patients.

The initiative highlights the impact of standardized protocols, RT-led coaching, and multidisciplinary collaboration in supporting post-operative recovery.
