For more than four years, Cathy has cared for her mother, Corleen, and recently began caring for her husband, Dan, following his stroke.
She has persevered during this difficult time and realized that she’s stronger than she thought. Through it all, she's found strength, support and connection through both fellow caregivers and ADCSI staff, who she shared, “are absolutely wonderful. It’s not only a job to them, they are there for you with their whole heart.”
Cathy leans on ADCSI for educational resources, respite, wellness programs and memory cafes. Two of her favorite wellness programs are crafting and halotherapy, which she finds is “the most peaceful half-hour she gets to herself” each month.

ADCSI was recently featured in the Press-Republican discussing the important topic of caregiver stress.
According to the Alzheimer’s Association, nearly 60% of dementia caregivers report high or very high emotional stress.
We’re proud to offer support groups, wellness programs and educational resources that remind our caregivers that they don’t have to navigate everything alone.
Thank you to the Press-Republican for helping shine a light on caregiver stress and the importance of support!

June is dedicated to Alzheimer's and Brain Awareness and serves as a call to action for prioritizing your brain health, highlighting the significant gap that still exists between knowledge and proactive measures.
The Alzheimer's Association reports that almost 90% of adults in the U.S. consider maintaining brain health crucial as they age, with 99% deeming it as significant as physical health. Yet, only 9% feel knowledgeable about how to nurture their brain health. So, where should you start?
A balanced diet, regular exercise and mental challenges are essential steps for enhancing your brain health. Explore resources like the Alzheimer's Association for helpful tips and habits for both yourself and your loved ones: www.alz.org/help-support/brain_health
