We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our racers, fans, and sponsors for their support over the last four seasons. Keeping Airborne alive through some very tough times was no small task. Starting with the COVID-19 pandemic, it was a rebuilding process, but the resilient racers and fans responded positively as they always do. We especially thank all of the staff for their hard work and dedication every week to keep things rolling.

We will continue to keep this page up to preserve the successes and history of the last four seasons. We will also promote other events that we are still involved with, such as car shows, fairs, and demolition derbies.

Eventually, we will change the name of the page, but the previous posts will not disappear. Stay tuned for upcoming events throughout the north country.

2023 Airborne Speedway Track Champions

Chris Raabe of Alexandria, Ontario clinched the DIRTcar 358-Modified Championship back on Wednesday, August 23 with his second place finish in the final 30-lap feature of the season for the division.

With rainouts providing a challenge this season, the 358-Modified division had five point counting events, with one of them being a show up points event for the Big Block/Small Block Challenge.

In the four regular point counting events, Raabe didn’t finish outside of the top three in any of the features. One win, two seconds and a third place finish was enough to give Raabe his second career championship at Airborne.

J & S STEEL SPORTSMAN

Plattsburgh’s Travis Bruno collected his third consecutive Sportsman Championship.

Bruno did so without scoring any victories during the season. With three events remaining, Bruno found himself with an 18 point deficit. Over the final three events, consistency paid off as a pair of fifth place finishes and a seventh place finish was enough to secure a 20 point margin of victory in the championship standings.

Over the course of the season, Bruno had five top-5 finishes and 10 top-10 finishes in 12 starts.

Richie Turner from Highgate, VT is the Renegade Champion for 2023.

Turner collected just one win on the season, but finished in the top-5 on 9 different occasions in 12 point counting events. He finished inside the top-10 in all but one of those 12 events.

Co-Champions have been named in the Street Stock division after a tie in points and being unable to break the tie through the tie-breaker scenario. The tie-breaker is most wins on the season and both drivers collected one win a piece.
