🎓 Celebrating the next generation of business leaders right here in our community!

Last Monday, Brandon Menard, Director of NAmTrans and Strategic Initiatives at the North Country Chamber of Commerce, attended Peru High School’s Business Achievement Awards ceremony.

During the event, Brandon had the honor of placing gold stoles on graduating seniors who earned 1,000 points over the course of the year through business education classes, service, and active participation in meetings. This program is part of Peru High School’s local chapter of the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA).

Brandon also had the opportunity to announce the 2026 “Business Person of the Year” and serve as the event’s guest speaker. Congratulations to this year’s gold medal winner and $500 scholarship recipient, Lexi Macey, as well as Josh Tyrell and Lahla Lashway, who earned silver and bronze medals along with scholarships.

Organized entirely by students, the ceremony also featured several of their award-winning presentations—highlighting the impressive talent, professionalism, and dedication of these emerging leaders.

Being part of such a meaningful celebration was truly special. We wish all graduating seniors continued success in their future endeavors!

NAmTrans Director Brandon Menard recently traveled across Lake Champlain to visit Finish Solutions, LLC in St. Albans, Vermont.

During his visit, he met with owner Adam Routhier to talk about the business and its capabilities. Finish Solutions proudly offers powder coating, sandblasting, precision masking, surface preparation, and liquid paint services. They also work with BETA TECHNOLOGIES—another valued NAmTrans company!

This week, NAmTrans Director Brandon Menard had the opportunity to meet with Imeco Cables Inc's Plattsburgh Plant Manager, Heather Tucker, and get a firsthand look at how the company operates.

Imeco is known for manufacturing custom-made electrical harnesses, power cables, and control boxes. Their team carefully assembles each component by hand to meet exact customer specifications. These finished products are used to power vehicles ranging from buses and trains to agricultural equipment and military fleets.

With an extensive operation in the North Country, Imeco continues to play an important role in supporting the transportation manufacturing industry. It was great to learn more about the many ways they’re making an impact!

Aero Precision Sheet Metal plays an important role in the transportation manufacturing supply chain, offering comprehensive services including design, fabrication, welding, assembly, and powder coating. The company supports a wide range of manufacturers throughout the North Country and Canada, delivering high-quality, custom solutions tailored to customer needs.

NAmTrans Director Brandon Menard visited Fastenal’s Plattsburgh facility to continue building and advancing partnerships across the North Country.

Fastenal plays a vital role in supporting manufacturers, ensuring they have the parts and equipment they need—when they need them. Their team works tirelessly behind the scenes to keep projects moving forward.

It was a great opportunity to meet with their new General Manager, Jessie Pray, gain insight into their operations, and explore new ways NAmTrans and the North Country Chamber of Commerce can offer support.

AQ Wiring specializes in the assembly of wire harnesses and box builds used in buses and trains, supporting critical systems that keep vehicles running efficiently and safely. The visit provided a valuable opportunity to see their work firsthand and discuss how NAmTrans and the North Country Chamber of Commerce can continue to support their growth and success.

NAmTrans Director Brandon Menard met with Philippe Maury, Vice President of Khrome Produit Transport, to discuss the company’s operations in the North Country and Drummondville, Québec, and to tour their Plattsburgh facility.

It was a great opportunity to connect and share the many ways NAmTrans and the North Country Chamber of Commerce support our region’s manufacturers.

Khrome plays an important role in the mass transit industry, producing passenger seats, interior and exterior panels, and bathroom modules. We’re proud to have them as part of our growing transportation manufacturing cluster and look forward to continuing our strong partnership!
