Not because travel is unsafe.
Not because you should panic.
But because informed travel is confident travel.

Every time I help a client plan an international trip, there are two things I check:

1️⃣ The U.S. Department of State travel website
This shows real-time entry requirements, safety advisories by region (not just country), local laws, health alerts, and embassy contact information updated daily.

2️⃣ STEP (Smart Traveler Enrollment Program)
It’s free. It takes about 5 minutes. And it allows the U.S. Embassy to contact you if there are weather events, transportation disruptions, protests, or safety changes while you’re abroad.

Most travelers spend hours scrolling blogs and social media before an international trip but skip the one official source designed specifically for them.

The difference isn’t access to information.
It’s access to the right information.

If you’re traveling internationally this year, especially to Mexico, this is worth five minutes of your time.
