And we wonder why we struggle to hear God. We want to hear God but the noise in our minds is loud with anxiety. Hear this good news: God invites you first to rest and to remember you are loved for who you are, not for what you can produce. Turn off the noise ... stop striving and sit quietly before God. Do it often!

Even the disciples were insecure in their feelings of adequacy but Jesus said 'go anyway, I will be with you'. Jesus did not wait for fearless disciples! He instead picked faithful ones! Our confidence is not in ourselves, it is in the one who says 'all authority is mine and I am with you always'!

Pentecost is meant to be a people on fire. God never intended faith to be a lonely candle. God intended faith to be a campfire. We all carry that fire, no matter how small it is, ... carry it with confidence.

Jesus came to us on earth to show us what God is like. They saw Jesus forgiving, touching and engaging leppers, welcoming sinners and even washing feet. They were seeing the heart of God. Jesus was there to give us eternal life starting NOW! Jesus completed his assignment! We all have an assignment even thought we are imperfect. Complete your assignment, stay faithful!
