The kitchen in Al & Sally’s motel in Indiana was so dang cute so naturally we decided to have a photoshoot. I feel this picture is misleading because I hardly ever touch cooking supplies. “Envious” is out now!🍎♥️🍏 This rated E (E for envy) tune is about how comparing myself to the remarkable artists around me has been a killer of my own creativity and has made me forget why I love to create in the first place. When I feel like I don’t measure up or don’t have anything unique or remarkable to bring to the table, I start to retreat into myself and feel unmotivated to write. Making my feelings rhyme and performing them to/with my friends is what brings me the most joy. It gives me a sense of purpose and a sense of belonging. It is how I am able to connect with other human beans and how I communicate the most effectively! I have to remind myself that although i am not the most polished or skilled musician out there, I still have a unique perspective in my storytelling that is worth sharing. I also have to tell myself that envy is not an ugly feeling although it makes me feel ugly at times. It is okay to wonder when it will be my time in the sunshine. Everyone has immense beauty in them and a light that they radiate that can’t be replicated! Maybe we are the sunshine (that’s v cheesy but it’s 1am and I’m sappy and I mean it!)🌞✨ We all see the bigger picture when we uplift each other up!

Hi y’all! My new tune “Envious” is out this Sunday May 31st!🍎♥️ I’m super duper excited for you guys to hear it and to share the official cover art/photo so soon! Here is a picture that my dear friend and immensely gifted photographer Kics took at the “Envious” photoshoot on Saturday. We adventured the magical land of Shorewood, hung out with the trees, almost got poison ivy, and swam in the river (those shots are so sick!). “Envious” is about how I am fighting those unrealistic beauty standards and false notions of success and it’s beating my ass on the daily. I compare myself to everyone and constantly feel like I don’t measure up. The tune is about the ugly (and really sad) aspect of envy. A fun tidbit, it makes me anxious to share this photo because the acne bumps you can see on my skin when you zoom in. One my lyrics that I hold close is “I want that soft skin, thick lips, apple of their eye. I want that winning grin, womanly hips, to be the big door prize”. What a wonderful reunion with my longtime pals and immensely talented artists , , and . Not only is a beautiful room with a fantastic sound system but it is also run by Trinity Services, a remarkable organization that supports folks with disabilities and mental illness. As May is mental health awareness month and being someone with obsessive compulsive disorder, it felt really good to share my stories on the stage on Saturday. What was even cooler was performing alongside my hero and dear friend . I’ve looked up to Jason for over half a decade and it has been incredible hearing him play on my tunes. I’m always singing along to his tunes in the shower or in my car so it was lovely getting to harmonize with him on stage! We haven’t played many duo shows together so this was really exciting for me! It was an honor. Thank you for asking to perform . You are a STAR and I am constantly moved by your extraordinary songwriting and electric stage presence. You open doors for, uplift, and empower your fellow women and I’m always overjoyed to be in your presence💜✨🪽
