The incident in Point Pleasant, , started in November 1966, when multiple locals reported seeing a strange, winged creature with glowing red eyes around the abandoned TNT plant outside of town.

Sightings continued for over a year, with dozens of people claiming eerie encounters. The Mothman was often described as a humanoid figure with a wingspan of 10 feet, capable of flying at incredible speeds.

The story took a darker turn on December 15, 1967, when the Silver Bridge collapsed, killing 46 people. Many believed the Mothman was either a harbinger of doom, a supernatural warning, or somehow connected to the tragedy. After the collapse, Mothman sightings mostly stopped.

Several residents, including journalists and witnesses, reported encounters with mysterious, intimidating men who wore all-black suits and drove black, unmarked cars (usually Cadillacs).

They spoke in monotone, robotic voices and asked bizarre, inappropriate questions, as if they didn’t quite understand human behavior. Sometimes they claimed to be government agents, other times didn’t identify themselves at all.

For those who doubt the Mothman’s existence, the trip to the museum is worth taking.

When entering Keystone Clearwater’s new offices, you’re greeted with a rad sign we created for them and an even cooler shelf custom built right below it.

We had nothing to do with the shelf but it’s a great shelf and needs recognized as well!
