Tomorrow is the day. Save this post as a reminder to give on August 4th!
Tomorrow, our entire fleet comes together, not just our green trucks, but every volunteer, food donor, nonprofit partner, staff member, and supporter who believes that good food belongs to people, not landfills.
Every rescue starts with someone saying "I'm in." Tomorrow, we're asking you to be part of that story.
Your gift helps fuel food rescues across our region, delivering fresh, nutritious food to neighbors while preventing it from going to waste. โจ Every donation made between $25 and $1,000 will be matched by The Pittsburgh Foundation, making your impact go even further.

It takes a fleet to feed Pittsburgh.
But our fleet is so much more than our green trucks.
It's the volunteers who claim rescues. ๐
It's the food donors who choose to give instead of waste. ๐
It's the nonprofit partners serving our neighbors. ๐ค
It's our staff keeping everything moving. ๐
And it's supporters like YOU who make it all possible.
On Tuesday, August 4, we're asking our entire fleet to come together for one common goal: keeping good food moving to the people who need it most.
As part of The Pittsburgh Foundation's Critical Needs Alert, your gift will help rescue more food, nourish more neighbors, and strengthen our community.
Thanks to a generous match from The Pittsburgh Foundation, every gift will go even further.
One day. One community. One mission.
Save the date and join the fleet on August 4.
Together with 412 Food Rescue, weโre helping strengthen food security across our region.
Through our Summer of Service initiative, DLH employees volunteered alongside 412 Food Rescue to prepare meals and pack grocery bags for neighbors experiencing food insecurity. These events build on a longstanding partnership that has generated more than 100 employee volunteer hours over the past two years in support of the organizationโs mission to recover and redistribute surplus food to neighbors in need.
By combining employee volunteerism with 412 Food Rescueโs innovative food recovery network, weโre helping increase access to nutritious food, reduce waste and support stronger, healthier communities.
