Resurrection Parish

Please pray for these men who serve us as deacons 🙏🏻 By answering a call to the diaconate, a man seeks to follow Jesus’ path by serving and enriching the lives of others 🕊️

Deacon Tung preached at the 11AM Mass at Saint John Capistran this morning with his mentor Fr. Mike Ackerman and his friend and Pastor from Vietnam. Please keep him and all the new deacons in your prayers! 🙏🏻 resurrectionpgh.org

It’s a special day in the City of Pittsburgh! Councilwoman Theresa Kail Smith sponsored proclamations from the City Council declaring today, September 30, as Bishop Emeritus David A. Zubik and Bishop Mark A. Eckman Day!
The proclamations took place today in the City Council Chambers of the City-County Building in Downtown Pittsburgh. They honored Bishop Zubik’s faithful service to the Catholic Church and the Diocese of Pittsburgh for more than five decades, and Bishop Eckman’s devotion to serving of God and the people of the Diocese of Pittsburgh through his decades of ministry.
Congratulations to both of our bishops! Please say a prayer for them today. 🙏🏻🥳🙏🏻 Diocese of Pittsburgh U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops

HOLY FACE OF JESUS
PRAYERS FOR REPARATION

You are warmly invited to join us for the Holy Face of Jesus Prayers for Reparation at St. John Capistran Church beginning on October 6. We will gather every Tuesday at 5:15PM before silent Eucharistic Adoration begins (the first week only, we will begin at 6:00PM). These prayers are offered in reparation for the outrages that the Holy Face of Jesus received during His passion and continues to receive in the Most Holy Eucharist.
This Church-approved devotion was given by Jesus to Blessed Mother Maria Pierina, with Our Lord specifically requesting that His Holy Face be honored on Tuesdays.
We hope you can join us for this dedicated time of prayer and adoration.
