Honored to be part of history.
This year I had the privilege of returning to Pittsburgh to host the 26th Annual Steel City Step Show at the University of Pittsburgh. Having previously hosted the 15th and 16th shows years ago, it was incredibly meaningful to come back and see the tradition continue to grow.
Being back in the city after spending the last several years in Charlotte, North Carolina made the moment even more special. Seeing the Divine Nine, students, alumni, families, and community members come together reminded me how powerful culture and connection can be.
This year also marks the 100th anniversary of Black History Month, making the experience even more meaningful. Events like this remind us that history isn’t just something we study — it’s something we actively build through community, tradition, and leadership.
Grateful to the University of Pittsburgh, the organizers, and everyone who helped make this event possible.
Looking forward to what the future holds and continuing to build meaningful experiences like this.

I’m officially hosting the Steel City Step Show this year — my third time on the mic, and my first time back in 10 years. To get the call during Black History Month and be told I’m viewed as part of Black history? That’s bigger than me. That’s legacy.
