This week marked the end of the Pitt in Rome experience for our students! Six weeks of discoveries, learning, and community-building. We canโ€™t wait to see them back in Pittsburgh in August to hear everything about their adventures!
Thanks to our own prof. Cinzia Delfini and HAA prof. Tom Morton for guiding them in this trip!

Using our Italian ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น in the beloved historic center of Florence โšœ๏ธ where many locals now speak English and are used to visitor interactions in English > CHAMPIONS LEAGUE! Listen to Julia and Carly order panini with lampredotto in the local language despite our friendly vendor's switch to English in the middle of this final exam

Pitt in Florence summer students Annie, Julia and Nora joined us at Spazio Alfieri for Bologna-born Fred Kuwornu's latest documentary, We Were Here: The Untold History of Black Africans in Renaissance Europe. A most interesting discussion followed this thought-provoking work ๐ŸŽค Grazie, Fred!

Pitt in Florence runs a course for our Italian students at the fourth semester+ that we call Firenze Popolare, an immersion in the People's Florence โšœ๏ธ as we build our vocabularies and work grammatical gymnastics. These engaged students enhance each other's awareness (as well as mine, their teacher!) of contemporary Florentine life, the people and spaces and storie da conoscere. A presto to these four galantuomini and benvenute to our summer FiPOP ladies ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น Classes start domani!
