10,000 to 20,000 years ago, a star 20 times bigger than our Sun exploded. That Super Nova still has remnants in our night sky. This is an image taken with a special telescope/camera from Pittsburgh last night that shows part of it. This is called the Western Veil Nebula.

It's a vast, expanding cloud of ionized gas and dust, and is part of a larger structure called the Cygnus Loop. The nebula is visible in telescopes as several distinct parts, including the Western Veil (Witch's Broom Nebula) and the Eastern Veil, and its colors in photos come from different elements like oxygen (blue) and hydrogen (red).

The severe weather threat is miniscule today, and the bigger story is how much more refreshing it will be later today and tonight after a cold front pushes the soupy air outta here!

Radar shows mainly lighter precipitation at the moment. While the clouds are making for dark skies now, sunshine is not far away.

Temperatures will not change incredibly, but the humidity levels are going to drop A LOT. This will make for a much more comfortable set up.

Remember, dew points (Greeniish-blue map) in the 60s and 70s are muggy to awful...Dew Points in the 50s are 🤌
