Foxwall EMS
Foxwall Emergency Medical Service - Serving the people of Fox Chapel and Aspinwall for over 40 years. Blawnox would join Foxwall in 1988.
In 1976, a tragedy in the Fox Chapel Borough was the catalyst for exploring the creation of an Emergency Medical Service in the area. Many municipalities in the Fox Chapel Area already had ambulance services affiliated with their volunteer fire departments. Fox Chapel and Aspinwall did not, and Foxwall EMS was born. Foxwall began operations on March 10, 1979 with a crew of approximately 70 volunt

UPMC St. Margaret Response Team along with Dr. Hagahmed stopped by Foxwall EMS last evening. We had some great conversation about the management of stroke and MI patients and also had a chance to just enjoy each other's company. Thanks for stopping by Dave M. and Dr. Hagahmed!

Thanks to a donation from CSX railroad, Foxwall EMS was able to purchase new life jackets and throw bags for all three of our ambulances to replace aging equipment. This purchase helps to ensure the safety of our personnel, especially given the increased severe weather events these past few years in our region. Thank You CSX!

Today, Foxwall EMS attended a Memorial Day commemoration in the Borough of Aspinwall. A memorial presentation was held at the Aspinwall American Legion Post 77 followed by a parade. Today's events were very well attended as the community honored all of our military and remembered those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.

Foxwall EMS has had a busy couple of weeks with sporting and community events.
On Sunday, we staffed two ambulances and two electric bikes, providing medical coverage for our partners at Pittsburgh Bureau of EMS to assist with the Pittsburgh Marathon. All of the vehicles provided by Foxwall were ALS staffed and our units provided medical care to attendees and bystanders.
We also participated with Aspinwall Police Department in the Drug Take Back Day. This program provides an opportunity to bring any medication to the police department for disposal. The program does not gather demographic information. Your medications are deposited by you into a box that will be sealed for transport to be disposed of. Keep your eyes peeled for another Drug Take Back Day this Fall!
Foxwall EMS has also been providing medical coverage for Pittsburgh Youth Lacrosse this Spring in our community.
We are proud to be partners with our neighboring public safety agencies and of our community engagement!

Run For The Hill Of It (RFTHOI) was on Sunday, and what a turnout it was! Almost 400 participants braved the Hill and either ran or walked to the top, or met at the top to cheer on the runners and walkers and enjoy the celebration in the park!
There are SO many people to thank. First, we thank Rob Tenenini who is a former Foxwall EMS Board member and President, and who is the brainchild of RFTHOI. Even though Rob is no longer on our Board, he continues to coordinate this event, now in its fifth year. Rob works tirelessly in front of and behind the scenes to ensure the success of the Run. We thank our Board of Directors who helped in so many capacities, many who joined Rob on the Run!
We thank our communities and all who support us and came out to join the fun. We thank our staff and volunteers, Aspinwall Borough, Aspinwall Police and Fire Departments who made sure everyone was safe and healthy.
We thank the presenter, UPMC St. Margaret Hospital and the following sponsors:
