New Global Alliance for Human Rights launched at UN

Today, that foundation is under unprecedented strain. In the lead up to the 80th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights on 10 December 2028, the Global Alliance for Human Rights will mobilize actors from all sectors, regions and generations to meet this moment and make human rights real in people's daily lives. It emphasizes work to grow Human Rights Cities as a key mechanism for supporting cities and local authorities as frontline actors for equality, dignity and participation.
