Covalent
We are a creative video production company that specializes in crafting unique stories to help you better connect with your customers and audiences.
Nick has notes in Director’s Notes about our process for on .film and how it reminded him about our collective super power.
What do you think our super power is?
Our obligatory Pittsburgh Post.
Thanks to for taking a silly idea and making it fun.
Continuity Issues? Continuity Issues?! CONTINUITY ISSUES!
Just another day editing our VERMIN.
Does suck?
Nick hates everything in his edit right now. Maybe that’s a bad omen or just a sign of the natural process of trying to make something.
What do you all think?
has thoughts on doing this whole thing siloed.
Editing our twice? Are we crazy?
We are dee in post production on our short film .film and we are doing something a bit crazy: TWO SEPARATE EDITS
The “roots” of Covalent, its foundation, was built through collaboration with nonprofits.
It’s why it was an easy decision to say yes to when they asked us to help bring a vision to life for .
So we got our cameras dirty. Went outside. Spent time in nature. And climbed some trees.
The dolly-zoom resurrected in this directors cut of the 2nd PA Lottery spot we created earlier this year.
It stars the talented and handsome and a menu elevator speaker.
Big thanks to and for trusting us and providing very fun creative. We love how these turned out.
Also a big shout out to for building an elevator from scratch. It worked out so well.

Sometimes in filmmaking you have to kill your darlings. RIP dolly-zoom.
If you’re the PA Lottery, you may not need a commercial to convince us to take a chance on winning millions of dollars from time to time. Still, it doesn’t hurt to remind people when the Powerball jackpot surpasses a few hundred million, because more people play as the jackpot grows. I mean, there is a lot you can do with $500 million.
We were commissioned to bring to life a spot that we found quite relatable, as who among us is not guilty of a doomscroll every once in a while?
This commercial was shot on a built set; could you tell? And we had a lot of fun with our talent and the crew as we worked to capture the stress of doomsrolling and build it toward the joys of doing something to get out of your funk. Did you all catch that dolly zoom?!
