Recovery doesn’t stop when treatment ends. For many people across Allegheny County, stable housing is the missing link between wanting a new beginning and having the support to sustain it. 🏠💜
At Za’kiyah House, Richards Place in Homewood and Donnelle Safe Haven in North Braddock provide more than a safe place to stay. They offer a supportive environment where residents can rebuild routines, strengthen relationships, pursue stability, and continue their recovery one day at a time.
When people have a secure home and caring community around them, healing has room to grow. Stable housing creates a foundation for freedom, accountability, and long-term success.
We believe everyone deserves a safe place to heal, grow, and move forward. 🤝✨

Recovery is possible, and no one should have to walk that journey alone. 💜
As we kick off National Recovery Month, The Sanctuary is sharing a message of hope, dignity, and holistic healing. Stable housing can be a powerful foundation for recovery, creating space for individuals to rebuild routines, strengthen relationships, access support, and move toward lasting freedom and stability.
Through Richards Place in Homewood and Donnelle Safe Haven in North Braddock, residents can find more than a place to stay. They can find a caring, supportive environment where healing is honored and every step forward matters.
Recovery looks different for everyone, but connection, safety, and community can make the journey feel possible. This month, we’re celebrating resilience and reminding our neighbors that support is available.

September is National Recovery Month: a time to recognize the strength, resilience, and progress of people in recovery and the communities walking beside them. 💜

Our holistic residential recovery housing supports individuals navigating addiction recovery, reentry, and the next steps toward freedom and independence:

Our homes offer more than a place to stay. They are spaces where residents can find caring relationships, encouragement, recovery-centered support, and connections to resources that help turn goals into a plan.
Throughout National Recovery Month, we’ll be highlighting recovery resources, community support, and pathways that remind us healing is possible: and no one has to do it alone. 🙌🏾

We love our team!
hightlight time! 💜✨ Today we are shining our community spotlight on an absolute pillar of strength and compassion at Za'kiyah House: our wonderful Program Support team member, Barnetta Russell! 🙌🏾 with an incredible 28 years of experience in the medical field, Barnetta brings so much wisdom, care, and heart into everything she does for our residents. But ask her what her favorite part of the work is, and she'll tell you: watching our residents heal, grow, and reconnect with their children. 👨👩👧👦💖 Barnetta shared one of the most touching moments with us recently, a program graduate came back just to visit and told her straight from the heart that Za'kiyah House saved her life. Moments like that remind us why we do what we do every single day. 🥹🙏🏾 thank you, Barnetta, for your unwavering dedication, your comforting presence, and the genuine love you pour into our community. We are so lucky to have you! please drop some love in the comments for Barnetta below! 👇🏾💜
