Founded in 2011 by Alan Obuzor, Texture is dedicated to creating and presenting original, thought-provoking choreography that connects with audiences on a human level. Watch this sneak peek of performance footage from Section 1 of Jillian’s piece, originally presented at the inaugural 2025 Cr8dance Competition in Pittsburgh, where it was selected as one of just eight works to be presented.
Jillian felt there was a larger story they wanted to tell. They expanded the original work into four sections, allowing the piece to further explore its central theme: the urge to find your truest self in a world that constantly tells us to blend in.
