"Hi, I'm Her. Moved from Medellin/Colombia to Pittsburgh 4 years ago, and since then I've been able to dedicate more time to a passion of mine and my craft. Since the moment my grandma taught me how to sew to the moment of choosing dancing as a career, creativity and love for the arts have always been there within me. My love for handmade things grew stronger when I discovered embroidery and beaded embroidery, and as a naturally curious person, I wanted to take it further and explore all the different things I can make with just some beads, thread, and fabrics."

"At GoodDay Co., we create handcrafted jewelry that serves as a tool for visibility and a demand for space. Our work is rooted in the belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to feel extraordinary and to live out loud. As a 2S/LGBTQ+ owned Afro-Indigenous brand, we use art as a means of both survival and inspiration, challenging the systems intended to erase diverse identities while building a community where belonging is a right, not a privilege. Our practice focuses on natural materials, specifically graduated Mother of Pearl, Turquoise, and countless other hand-picked shells. We select each material for its unique character, prioritizing "purposeful authenticity" over manufactured perfection. Our process embraces "intentional error," reflecting the raw energy of the earth and the beautiful journey of finding confidence. This approach was forged in necessity; we began creating while living on a school bus on the side of a highway, transforming a fight for survival into a method for self-sustainability and creative reclamation. Through this work, we aim to break generational patterns and honor the paths of my ancestors. Our jewelry is designed for those who refuse to conform—the ones who are unafraid to "be the statement." By highlighting diversity across the diaspora and speaking out on the challenges our communities face, we intend for each piece to act as a living message of resilience. The goal is to move beyond traditional business models and participate in a new era of collective support, where art is used to ignite a spark in every person we reach."
