Meet the Artist: Recent Graduate, Theoni Medea

Y'all, I graduated from CCAC last Thursday with my Associates in Art and I'm so elated to say that I've been accepted into Edinboro University to work towards my BFA!

The people I've met, classmates I've worked besides and the professors I've had truly inspire me to go on and do more art, create more ceramics and view the world in a whole new light.

I'm a little nervous but even more excited to move, meet even more people, classmates and professors that will help me take my work to the next level.

I love her, I've been trying to make more lidded vessels as I am not at all well versed in making them. But this girl is definitely a success!!

I like the idea of having a string handle that can be used to hold an object as a k**b, like a rock for example.

The current handle may or may not be a piece of a paper bag handle.. for pictures.. but i plan on putting some nice leather strapping to finish it off.

These sippers are really fun to make. Even if people say they're "trendy and lame" I think they're fun and perfect for every drink you need to have on the go!!

I plan to make many more! All sizes and more detailing!

As a true yinzer, I had to make these. When I started doing the Soda-Can style vessels and doodling fruit and lemons, I just had to make Turner's cans!

Pancake Batter Bowls!

Growing up we had a little flat top griddle and my dad would make me and my sister pancakes in the shape of the first letter of our names. So I drew the alphabet as a nod to all the "T" pancakes I ate as a child.
