Standing watch over Pittsburgh for more than 260 years. 🇺🇸 The flag flies above the Fort Pitt Block House, the oldest surviving structure in Western Pennsylvania, while the city’s skyline rises behind it, a reminder of how far Pittsburgh has come. ❤️

After being drained for a couple of years, the reflection pool is fixed and back open at Point State Park. People used to drop coins in it while making a wish.. I wonder 💭 if that will make a come back or not. 🤔

🦖 Pittsburgh’s Transitsauras still roams the region!

Long before Pokémon Go, Pittsburgh had a dinosaur hunt of its own.

This colorful dino, known as Transitsaurus, was one of 100 dinosaur statues created for the 2003 DinoMite Days public art project organized by the Carnegie Museum of Natural History. Designed to resemble Pittsburgh’s iconic cream-and-orange PCC streetcars, it celebrates the city’s rich public transit history while adding a little prehistoric personality to the landscape.

After the exhibit ended, the dinosaurs were auctioned off and scattered across Western Pennsylvania. More than 20 years later, many of them are still hiding in plain sight at businesses, schools, and private properties throughout the region.

📍 Have you spotted any of Pittsburgh’s DinoMite Days dinosaurs lately? Which one is your favorite, and where did you find it?

🎣 Remember when every house, office, hunting camp, and uncle’s basement had one of these on the wall?

This is an original Big Mouth Billy Bass, the singing fish that became one of the biggest novelty gift crazes of the late 1990s and early 2000s. Released in 1999, Billy would suddenly spring to life, singing “Take Me to the River” and “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” while startling unsuspecting guests.

Millions were sold, Christmas trees across America had one underneath them, and for a brief moment, a singing fish was one of the hottest gifts in the country.

Did you have a Billy Bass hanging on your wall? 🎣😂

Before Pittsburgh had parking chairs, potholes, and GPS rerouting us through six neighborhoods, it had roads like this.

This century-old Belgian block street in Brookline has been carrying Pittsburgh traffic since the days of horses, trolleys, and Model Ts. Some roads don’t just connect neighborhoods, they connect generations.
