Oh hi there. 👋

It’s been a while since I’ve posted on this feed and I thought it might be helpful to put something up to remind the internet and the algorithm that I’m here.

I’ve been stepping away from housewares as it wasn’t as fulfilling for me and there are so many lovely folks who make them that I want to step into what gives me joy. Of course, this means that I took a hard step away from markets this year. I needed time to reflect on what I wanted this “brand” to be and what I wanted out of it. That dreaming phase led to me removing the pressure I’d placed to make money out of this project. I’m creating for the sake of creating, enjoying the process and seeing some of my best works live out in the world instead of being bogged down with the “how can I monetize this quick” capitalist mentality that I got sucked into. I’m still making coats and happy to take on custom orders for them though.

Anyway, if you’re still here after this yap just know I appreciate you being here and I’m so excited for the future of this practice for the first time in so long. Sometimes a long sleep is necessary for big dreams.

I’ve been trying to practice showing up for my community in ways that I can, giving when we have the means and doing when we don’t have the ability to give. Sometimes it just is repairs on some teensy pants like today and other times it’s hauling something for someone who needs a hand. In a really overwhelming world sometimes slowing it down and focusing on the immediate areas I can have an impact in helps me calm my nervous system.

Now the prep for in May and garden planning. 👩‍🌾

I finally got to take the rug tufting class at this past week. I’ve been trying to get in to take it for years and my partner got me passes for my birthday. I had such a great time and the instructor, Hillary, was really patient and kind. We had a tiny group of 3 of us but it felt like we were hanging with friends each night. I highly recommend taking the class if you’re interested.
