It’s long past Mothers Day but there’s still time to make THIS mother’s day by giving Griselda her very own forever home! Griselda was found with her two tiny kittens that she birthed and raised on the streets all by herself. She’s one tough Mama.

Now that her kittens are growing up, she’s searching for a little bit more of a low-energy situation, free from kittens constantly jumping on her head. She’s very low-maintenance, but she loves attention…on her terms of course. Once she trusts you she’ll come right up for pets and brushes and in return she’ll give you head butts that’ll knock you clear off your feet. She’s hasn’t been very playful yet, her kittens usually steal all the toys, but she definitely is interested.

The way to her heart is through Churu and wet food. She goes wild for them both and she’ll come right up to you to get them. Afterwards, she’ll thank you by doing a few circles around you while brushing her tail all over you.

Griselda is still a little shy, so she would do best in a calmer home with patient adopters. She also loves looking out the window so bird-watching space is a must. She likes other cats and would do great with a respectful and calm cat companion because her days taking care of crazy kittens are over! It’s her turn to be spoiled now!

Griselda is estimated to be 1 year old and has been spayed, dewormed, flea treated, microchipped, vaccinated, and has tested FIV/FeLV negative. If you are looking for a gorgeous and sweet but shy Tortie, then Griselda is your girl!

This is Larry! He’s one of the three famous “Three Stooges” crew! He’s a complete dork, and we love him for it. Larry is blissfully joyful and fully enjoys life. He’s your typical happy-go-lucky kitten. He’s got the kitten curiosity, zoomies, energy, and playfulness.

Larry is also very sweet. He’s a big fan of attention, being petted, and cuddling. Larry has a big purr and has mastered his biscuit making technique. He’s easy to handle and gets along with everyone he meets. Larry is great with kids (he loves the foster family’s toddler), cats, and even isn’t bothered by the overly friendly foster family’s dog. Larry is a perfect little sweetheart.

Larry is estimated to be about 3 months old. He is neutered, microchipped, flea treated, dewormed, and has tested negative for FIV/FeLV. Would you like a silly, comedic kitten in your life? Please apply today!

Meet Persephone... this sweet, quiet girl is looking for a patient family to call her own.

Persephone is a little more reserved than her brother, Pluto, and can take some time to feel comfortable in new places and around new people. But once she knows she can trust you, you’ll discover what a sweetheart she really is. She loves gentle pets and has the cutest little chirps to let you know she’s happy.

While Persephone enjoys a good afternoon nap, she definitely has a playful side, too. She loves chasing toys, wrestling with her foster siblings, and never turns down a tasty treat. A few treats and a little patience go a long way toward winning her heart. Persephone gets along wonderfully with other cats and would likely enjoy a home with another friendly feline to help her feel confident and keep her company. We aren’t sure yet how she’d do with dogs or young children.

Persephone is estimated to be 1 year old. She has been spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, flea treated, microchipped, and tested negative for FIV/FeLV. If you’re the kind of person who understands that the best friendships take a little time, Persephone will reward your patience with sweet chirps, gentle affection, and a loyal companion for years to come.

🍪🍪 COOKIE ALERT!!! 🍪🍪

Our awesome friends at Pastries A-La-Carte are doing another delicious (and adorable) fundraiser for us! This can’t come at a better time as we are still getting hit hard by kitten season.

This fundraiser features some of our super special trashcats…

• Eeyore, who came in FIV+, needing a dental, neuter, ear hematoma addressed, treatment for URI (and probably some other stuff we don’t even remember at this point).
• Panda, who we helped another rescuer with. She is FeLV+ (progressive) and is still looking for a home where she can thrive as the solo cat.
• Jax(!) our giant love of a cat who needed a tail amputation and needs help with bladder expression a few times a day. He’s also looking for a home and has been a superstar at any TCR events.
• Little Bean (adopted by his foster) - he’s our notorious TCR spokescat who was born with only part of his brain - he thrives in the spotlight and demanded we make a cookie featuring him.

Do you want to support TCR’s complex medical cases AND receive some cookies *almost* too cute to eat? (Shh don’t tell the cats we bite the heads off first). Please consider purchasing a box! 50% of all proceeds go directly to TCR. Online orders are open and can be found here (or at link in bio):

For *this* Stanwix, PPG stands for “pretty playful guy.” Stanwix (“Stan”) pretended he was shy for the first few weeks in his foster home, but now he loves to be near people and purr and play! Sometimes he still acts like he’s afraid and may be the most cautious of his littermates, but after a few minutes he’s curious enough to collect pets, cuddles, and TOY TIME! If he’s a little shy at first, he’s the only one of the litter who is more easily tempted with a cool toy than a Churu! Toys and games are the way to this soft little guy’s heart. His signature move when he doesn’t trust something is to give it a skeptical eye and an adorable, cautious, gentle slap. 😂 He’s also the first to figure out hidden or interactive toys, so he may be the brainiest of the group!

Stanwix would probably do great in a variety of homes. He hasn’t met any dogs, but he loves to play with his brothers and seems unfazed by the nosy resident cats. He would love to go home with one (or more!) of his brothers, Bigelow, Smithfield, or Smallman. He looks just like his brother Smithfield except with a pink nose and shorter “socks.”

Stanwix is about 3 months old and has been neutered, flea treated, dewormed, vaccinated, microchipped, and tested negative for FIV and FeLV. Apply for this playful little guy today!

Did you know that the Smithfield Street Bridge is blue while the 3 sister bridges are yellow? Well, Smithfield (“Smithy”) has a black nose while his 3 brothers have pink ones! He also has bonus toes! He’s a special guy!

Smithfield is high energy and loves to turn on the turbo jets to run around with his brothers. He has super soft fur, and he chirps and purrs and loves to play, and even narrates his playtime with little trills! He also runs around with his tail curved toward his back for no apparent reason.

Because he’s a “Hemingway cat” and has extra toes, he’ll need his nails clipped regularly, which he already does very well with the help of a churu treat.

Smithfield would probably do great in a variety of homes! He’d probably be fine with kids and other cats (he plays with his brothers constantly and seems unfazed by the nosy resident cats). He would probably love to go home with one (or more!) of his brothers, Stanwix, Smallman, or Bigelow. His brother, Stanwix looks just like him except with a pink nose, shorter “socks,” and standard toe count!

Smithfield is about three months old, He’s neutered, flea treated, dewormed, vaccinatd, microchipped, and tested negative for FIV and FeLV. Apply to meet him today!

Smallman (“Smalls”) earned his name not for working in the Terminal building or lurking around the Smallman Street Deli (although he’d probably look cute in a little paper hat wrapping sandwiches), but from being small! He was the runt of his litter but has grown to be outgoing, playful, and an all around awesome little guy!

Smallman has little pink beans and soft fur, and he loves to run and play with his brothers. He will often be the first to sit on a lap (or perch on your shoulder) to take a break from the chaos before jumping right back in. He’s petite, but he’s certainly not shy!

Smallman would probably do great in a variety of homes. He hasn’t met any dogs, but he loves to play with his brothers and is interested in the nosy resident cats. He would love to go home with one (or more!) of his brothers, Bigelow, Smithfield, or Stanwix. (Bigelow looks like him with darker splotches and extra toes!)

Smallman is about 3 months old and has been neutered, flea treated, dewormed, vaccinated, microchipped, and tested negative for FIV and FeLV. Apply for this little bundle of fun today!

Bigelow (“Biggie”) has a personality big enough to land a billboard right alongside Pittsburgh’s Poetess! He’s also got... extra toes!

Everyone knows there’s no speed limit on Bigelow, and that goes for this guy, too. This guy has everything. Thumbs. Soft fur. A propensity for standing guard for his brothers when they’re in the litterbox. The ability to drag a toy around the kitten room for his brothers to chase. He loves to run and jump and play and will even climb in a lap for about 40 seconds to purr and relax with a human.

Because he’s a “Hemingway cat” and has extra toes, he’ll need his nails clipped regularly, which he already does very well with the help of a churu treat.

Bigelow would probably do great in a variety of homes! He’d probably be fine with kids and other cats (he plays with his brothers constantly and is interested in the resident cats). He would probably love to go home with one (or more!) of his brothers, Stanwix, Smallman, or Smithfield. If you like his markings, Smallman is similar but with gray instead of black. And if you like big mittens (and you cannot lie), Smithfield also has extra toes!

Bigelow is about three months old, He’s neutered, flea treated, dewormed, vaccinatd, microchipped, and tested negative for FIV and FeLV. Apply to meet him today!

This is Little Fart... enough said.

But in all seriousness, Little Fart’s foster parents can’t say enough amazing things about her. They both poured their blood, sweat, and tears (literally) into this baby girl, and gave up about 3 weeks of sleep to keep her alive. She came to Trash Cat when a lovely college student in Ohio found her outside of her apartment, the week of finals, in the rain, all alone, at about 2 weeks old. All that to say, Fart was not set up for success in life, but never the less, she is here today!

Fart is goofy, loving, and adventurous. She loves people, loves treats, and loves snuggle time. Of course she is also very playful but her love of cuddles really sets her apart from other kittens. She loves other cats and is always getting them into some kind of trouble with one of her antics. We know she will bring her forever family so much joy and laughter!

Fart must be adopted into a home with one of her foster friends or into a home with another young playful resident cat! She does great with kids of all ages. She has not met a dog.

Little Fart is about 4 months old. She has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, flea treated, and tested negative for FIV / Felv. Apply to adopt this amazing girl today!

Meet the petite and spunky, Indy! When Indy first came to TCR, she was a little hesitant about everything but has settled in wonderfully and is ready for her forever home! During the day, you can usually find Indy lounging in a cat tree but when dinner time rolls around, her personality truly shines. This girl LOVES her food and it’s the easiest way to become her best friend. She is also a very playful girl and loves chasing any kind of wand toy and batting around toy mice, springs, and balls.

Indy can initially be intimidated by human hands approaching her but once she is comfortable, she enjoys full body pets and particularly loves butt scritches. Let her eat a couple treats from your hand and you’re sure to gain her trust quickly. Overall, she’s a pretty independent girl and prefers spending her time playing and watching birds out the window as opposed to cuddling with people.

Indy has been fostered with a couple different cats and really enjoys their company! She loves napping with them and wrestling with them, after slow and proper introductions, so would love to go to a home with a kitty friend. Indy was introduced to a calm dog in foster and was very fearful so would prefer a canine-free home. Due to her slightly skittish nature, she would do best in an adult-only home but could get used to older, calm kiddos.

Indy is estimated to be about 1 year old. She is spayed, dewormed, flea treated, vaccinated, microchipped, and FIV/FELV negative. Apply to adopt her (and a friend?) today!
