So much time, effort and love has gone into this little spot at the top of our yard.
We loved building it, and now we're loving sharing it with you ❤️

Earlier this year while reading "The Art of Gathering", Priya Parker mentions a magical, flash mob of sorts, dinner party; The Dîner en Blanc.

Dinner en Blanc ("Dinner in White" in French) is a worldwide event spanning six continents in which people have a meal dressed in white in a temporary dining setup in a public space. Diners are required to provide their own food, tables, chairs and tablecloths. Only a select number of participants who have previously signed up are made privy to the location the day of the dinner, and generally converge in an iconic urban location.
After dinner there is music, sparklers and dancing.

Last weekend I was able to attend this event for the very first time. Such a cool experience! Such a magical night!

Turning our last zucchinis into creamy zucchini soup. People always seem surprised by this recipe; "zucchini soup?". But every person that's tried it can't get enough. With fresh thyme and rosemary, it's like thanksgiving dinner in a bowl. This will always be one of my favorites soups to make!

When I was a kid grilled cheese and tomato soup was my favorite meal. Never thought I could make a homemade version that would hit it so far out of the park!
Fresh garden tomatoes and basil soup with gruyere and swiss grilled cheese. So good! 🙌

Peppers are coming in faster then we can handle!
Pro gardener tip: wash them, cut them up, and freeze them on parchment paper. Then put them in a zip lock in the freezer and enjoy all winter 🙌

So happy to be learning from the experts

On Sunday, I was able to travel out to Geneva, New York to help the Out Standing in the Field company with one of their beautiful dinners. It was 150 attendees, 5 amazing chefs, and such a beautiful time of celebrating the local farms and community.

Common Acres was born during a time of social and economic turbulence. While the pandemic and social unrest seemed to be dividing those in our country, we couldn’t help but see the ever increasing need for connection and community.

So here it is folks! Our community group is live!
