🐾 A photo that probably doesn’t look like a big deal to most people…
But for Sir Bones, it is.
When a dog has been through the level of neglect, deprivation, and starvation that Sir Bones experienced, the effects don’t magically disappear once they gain weight. The physical healing is often the easiest part.
The reality is that Sir Bones is a lot of work.
He came with a tremendous amount of baggage, behavioral challenges, and safety concerns that require careful management every day. He missed out on experiences and socialization that help dogs learn how to navigate the world safely, and severe starvation changes dogs in ways many people don’t realize.
Progress with other animals has been measured in baby steps, not giant leaps.
That’s why this photo matters.
What looks like two dogs calmly sharing a bed is actually a huge milestone for him.
On top of everything else, he has battled ongoing stomach issues since coming into rescue. He’s undergone surgeries, needed extensive veterinary care, medications, diagnostics, and more support than most people realize to get him where he is today. It’s been a long road, and anyone familiar with Great Danes knows how sensitive they can be.
Thankfully, he is finally doing much better, and we’re hopeful that if he continues to stay stable and healthy, he’ll be able to get neutered soon.
The good news is that he’s exactly where he needs to be. His foster mom knows giant breeds inside and out and has poured her heart into helping him heal, rebuild confidence, and learn how to simply be a dog again.
And none of this would have been possible without our village.
To everyone who donated, shared his story, cheered him on, and helped us provide the surgeries, medications, and veterinary care he needed—thank you. You are a huge part of why this boy is still here and continuing to make progress.
Is he “fixed?” Not even close.
Does he still have a long road ahead? Absolutely. But healing isn’t about perfection. It’s about progress.
For Sir Bones, this picture represents trust, safety, patience, and countless small victories that most people will never see.
We’re incredibly proud of you, big guy. 💙

💕 Meet Wilma Flintstone 💕 Just a few weeks ago, Wilma was sitting in a shelter with a fractured leg, scared and shut down, but look at her now! We don’t know exactly what happened to her, but it appears she may have been hit by a car. What we do know is that this little girl never gave up.
After time to heal, some vet visits and splinting and of course lots of love in her dedicated foster home, Wilma has blossomed into the happy, playful, affectionate puppy she was always meant to be. ❤️
At about 1 year old and just 10 pounds, Wilma is very adolescent and the perfect mix of adventure buddy and couch cuddler. She loves belly rubs, walks, playing fetch, exploring the outdoors, and then curling up next to her people for snuggles. She would make an excellent hiking companion and loves playing with other dogs.
Wilma can be shy at first, especially around men, but warms up with patience and kindness. She’s crate trained, doing well with her potty training, and is a smart little pup who is eager to continue learning. Like many young dogs, she’s still working on some basic manners and can occasionally get a little mouthy when excited.
Most of all, Wilma is looking for what she’s never truly had—a family of her own. A family that will love her, continue building her confidence, and give her the happy ending she deserves.
🐾 Female | Dachshund /Terrier Mix | ~1 year | 10 lbs

🐾 Meet Button 🐾 The handsome young wire-haired terrier/Schnauzer mix with a goofy personality, adorable scruffy mohawk, and plenty of charm. He loves adventures, hanging out with his people, and “talking” when he has something important to say.
This smart boy quickly learned the dog door, is doing great with his leash skills, is potty trained, and is pretty well crate trained. While he can be a little insecure with new people and takes time to warm up, Button is a loyal, affectionate companion once he trusts you.
He’s looking for a patient, experienced home that will appreciate his intelligence, quirky personality, and continue helping him build confidence.
Think Button might be your perfect match? ❤️

✨ PUPDATE! ✨ Wilma is healing up beautifully and will be available for adoption soon! ❤️🩹💕
When we first saw her at the shelter she was scared, painful, and unsure of the world after likely being hit by a car. Now? This silly girl is stealing the show, showing off her playful personality, and lighting up every room she walks into. ✨🐾
We can’t thank everyone enough who helped rescue Wilma and supported her medical care. Because of so many caring people coming together, this sweet pup gets the happy future she always deserved.
Wilma is an affectionate adolescent girl who would love a home with a playful canine buddy. She’s still a little shy at first and needs some time to warm up to men, but every day her confidence grows and more of her goofy, joyful personality shines through.
Watching her go from scared and hurting to happy and playful has been the best kind of transformation. 💕🐶

ADOPTED 🐾
Daxo the giant squishy mastiff officially found his forever home 🖤
His DNA says he’s part Boerboel and part American Bully… which explains the giant head, even bigger heart, and endless snuggles.
So happy this sweet boy gets the amazing life he always deserved ✨
Wilma 💕PUPDATE After being hit by a car, this sweet little girl is safe and healing thanks to so many people coming together to help save her.🐾
She had a great vet visit and fancy little splint appointment and is doing really well. She still has some healing ahead of her and will be on strict rest with her splint for a while, so this is probably the most “zoomies” she’ll be allowed for now 😂
She is truly the sweetest, most loving little dog and we’re so happy with the progress she’s already made. Thank you to everyone who helped give Wilma a chance. 💗

PSA! We have seen a large number of attempts to scam individuals out of money. Many scammers are targeting rescue pages and or pretending to be rescue. We are seeing them comment on our page. Please never buy or send any funds to anyone anything unless our actual page posts something. This is so frustrating. Any ideas on how to avoid this. We are seeing a lot more scammers lately. 😤😩

Wilma is now in her foster mom's care and on the journey to healing and recover but we are thrilled to know she's already resting and more comfortable being out of the shelter. She had a leg fracture and some road rash, etc from being hit by a car but she’s already improving and stable. You can donate towards her care at www.K9ppr.org
