Red Rox had a great day showing at Taylor Made Farm LLC! Shelly and Gibson had amazing rides in Developing Hunter at their first show . Andrea and Bear placed well in all of their classes in Schooling Hunter. Kendall and Pickles in the Walk/Trot division and came home with champion! MAK and Dayzee had solid rounds and placed very well in a large and competitive Low Junior/Adult Hunter Division. Khloe did a fantastic job riding Frosty at her first show with him in the Low Junior/Adult Hunters. Congratulations to everyone!

Since I couldn’t add a photo and video together in my previous post, this was the visitor in the indoor on Saturday!
What a gorgeous 🤩 weekend!
We had an unexpected visitor in the indoor yesterday, and after calling the Aark for advice and giving him/her a moment to calm down and get their bearings, they flew off with no issue!
This morning’s weather was too perfect to not make a trip up to the horse park! Bear and Skipper loved being out of the ring and jumping on the air strip!

Happy Memorial Day! We had a morning boot camp lesson by request- I think the horses fared better than the riders 🤪…

Another happy customer thanks to alexisguichard and Forestier Sellier USA! River will now be sporting a new to him Boekelo that has had the panels customized to his back. He and his owner will be riding in style (and comfort!)

Feeling so grateful to have been able to go to the Kentucky Defender 3 Day Event at the Kentucky Horse Park. While I’m still trying to figure out how to fit all of the things I bought into my bags to get home, to experience an event like this was amazing. We were surrounded by the best in the world in both eventing and show jumping, and even got to walk the cross country course with Jennie Brannigan and Boyd Martin. forestiersellierusa was there and it was so fun to cheer on Caroline Pamucku who is sponsored by them, and now Phillip Dutton who recently joined with Forestier. One of the best moments was seeing Liz Halliday cheer Boyd and Bali on and present an award to the winner of the 4*S in her honor. This was an experience I will never forget!

Huge thank you to Priscilla from thecovertfarmllc for a fantastic clinic on Sunday! We loved the chance to shake off the winter cobwebs 🥶, get some fresh eyes on our rides, and go into warmer weather with new goals to work on.
Always a great day of learning, laughs, and happy horses. We’re already looking forward to the next one! 🐴✨

What was supposed to be a winter of dialing in and building on our progression through the summer, turned out to be a winter of rest, tests X-rays and groundwork for Polaris. Right before Thanksgiving we were struggling with slight soundness issues that suddenly got worse. We tested for many injuries/issues/illnesses, and everything came back negative or inconclusive. Dr. Jen at Blauner, Buchholz and Associates, and I discussed next steps and decided to do X-rays of Polaris’ back, which showed she has significant kissing spine. As serious as this diagnosis is, we are so fortunate to have such extensive and knowledgeable resources available to Red Rox.
Since the diagnosis, Polaris and I have been working hard on building her back muscles and topline to support her back. We did injections, she gets weekly Magnawave treatments with ND Equine Wellness, and we started with groundwork to focus on body awareness and engagement and progressed to using equicoreconcepts to strengthen her back and topline muscles. I am so glad to be partnered with Forestier Sellier USA; the gullet on all of their saddles is wider than most to ensure the panels sit properly on the back muscles and clear the spine completely. With kissing spine, it is crucial that this happens with the saddle to avoid any discomfort.
All of the time, effort and knowledge from everyone has kept Polaris comfortable and helped her soundness significantly so that we are finally able to start back under saddle. Our goal was to move up a level when we competed next, but I’m just happy that with slow, careful rehab and maintenance we are sound again and have the potential to get back to where we were and move forward!
