Pet Appreciation Day

Today is all about celebrating the pets who make our lives brighter every single day.

They greet us with excitement, comfort us when we're down, make us laugh with their silly antics, and remind us to enjoy life's simple moments.

Whether they bark, purr, chirp, hop, swim, or slither, our pets are more than companions they're family.

Today, take a moment to show your pet a little extra love. Spend some quality time together, go for an extra walk, play their favorite game, or offer a special treat (with your veterinarian's approval, of course!).

We'd love to celebrate with you! Share a photo of your pet in the comments and tell us what makes them so special.

Thank you for trusting us to help care for the pets that mean so much to your family.

Ear Care 101

Floppy ears = extra cute… but also extra prone to infections!

Watch for signs like:
Scratching at ears
Head shaking
Odor or redness

Fun tip:
Regular (vet-approved) ear cleaning can help prevent problems especially for breeds with long ears!

Not sure how to clean them safely? We’re happy to show you!

Why Do Cats “Knead”?

That adorable paw-pushing motion (aka “making biscuits”) isn’t just cute it’s instinct!

Kittens knead their moms to stimulate milk flow, and many cats carry that comforting behavior into adulthood.

It can mean:
They’re relaxed and happy
They feel safe with you
They’re marking their territory (with scent glands in their paws!)

So next time your cat starts baking take it as a compliment!

From all of us, we thank our fallen heroes and their families. 🇺🇸

Happy World Turtle Day!

Today we’re celebrating these incredible, slow-and-steady creatures who have been around for millions of years! From tiny hatchlings to wise old shells, turtles remind us of the importance of patience, resilience, and caring for our environment.

Did you know?
Many turtles depend on clean oceans and waterways
Proper diet and habitat are essential for pet turtles
They need the right lighting and temperature to stay healthy

If you have a pet turtle, today is a great time to check their habitat and make sure they’re getting everything they need to thrive!

Let’s do our part to protect turtles and their habitats every small effort counts.

Drop a 🐢 in the comments if you love turtles or share a pic of your shelled friend!

Is Your Pet at a Healthy Weight? ⚖

A few extra pounds might seem harmless, but pet obesity can lead to serious health issues like diabetes, arthritis, and heart disease.

Quick check:
Can you see a waist from above?
Can you feel (but not see) their ribs easily?

If not, it might be time for a weight check!

We’re happy to help create a healthy plan for your pet because longer, happier lives start with good habits.

Stage One Fire Restrictions Begin Tomorrow

Starting tomorrow, our area will be under Stage One Fire Restrictions due to dry conditions and increased wildfire risk. These restrictions are put in place to help protect our communities, public lands, wildlife, and first responders.

Please remember:
🚫 No open campfires outside of designated areas
🚫 No burning debris or trash
🚫 Use extreme caution with anything that can spark a fire
🚫 Never toss cigarette butts from vehicles or on the ground

Even a small spark can quickly turn into a dangerous wildfire this time of year. We all play a part in keeping our forests, grasslands, and neighborhoods safe.

Stay informed
Follow posted restrictions
Report smoke or fire immediately

Thank you for doing your part to help prevent wildfires and keep our community safe.

Did You Know? Nose Prints Are Unique!

Just like human fingerprints, every dog and cat has a completely unique nose print!

Those cute little ridges and patterns could actually be used to identify them how cool is that?

Fun fact:
Some pet owners even create keepsake art using their pet’s nose print!

Give your pet’s nose some love today (boop optional but encouraged 😄).

Happy International Hamster Day!

Today we’re celebrating our tiny, whiskered friends who bring so much joy into our lives! Whether they’re running on their wheel at lightning speed, stuffing their cheeks with snacks, or curling up for a cozy nap, hamsters remind us that the little things matter most.

If you have a hamster at home, today is the perfect time to show them some extra love:
Refresh their bedding for a clean, comfy space
Treat them to a healthy snack (think fresh veggies!)
Add enrichment like tunnels or chew toys
Spend gentle, calm time bonding with them

And remember hamsters may be small, but their care is a big responsibility. Proper diet, habitat, and regular check-ups help keep them happy and healthy!

Drop a in the comments or share a pic of your furry friend we’d love to see them!
