๐Ÿพ Welcome to the Bearcat Family, Jennifer Abbott!

We are so excited to introduce Jennifer Abbott, who is joining PPISD as our new 3rd Grade Math Teacher at the Elementary Campus!

Jennifer's path to teaching started with one incredible 8th grade ELAR teacher who sparked something in her โ€” so much so that she went on to attend a high school for teaching professions, where great mentors fanned that flame even further. Eleven years of teaching 2nd grade math later, she's ready for a new challenge, and we get to be the ones who benefit. ๐ŸŽ‰

The move to PPISD was a personal one. Jennifer and her family recently put down roots in Sanger and made the intentional decision to find a school home closer to family life. We love that Pilot Point gets to be that place.

When she's not making math magic happen in the classroom, Jennifer is all about her people. Her family's happy place is Disney World โ€” they make it an annual tradition ๐Ÿฐ โ€” and her perfect weekend morning involves slow starts, hot coffee, and cuddling with her daughters. โ˜•

And here's the fun fact that absolutely no one saw coming: Jennifer used to work as a party clown as a teenager โ€” and she can still make balloon animals. ๐ŸŽˆ 3rd graders, you are in for a treat.

Welcome to Pilot Point, Jennifer โ€” we are so glad your search for a school home led you to us! ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿงก

Big news for our Bearcat family! ๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ–ค

Our PPISD Board of Trustees has approved a 2026-2027 Compensation Plan that puts our people first, and we couldnโ€™t be more grateful. Every single staff member will see a 3% increase based off our midpoint, our teaching staff will receive a $2,000 raise (about 3% of the market median), and weโ€™re proud to set a new minimum teaching salary of $55,750.

Weโ€™re also making targeted adjustments for teachers with 10+ years of experience and updating our stipend schedule.

Behind every great school is a team of dedicated people, and this plan reflects how deeply we value the work they pour into our students every day. Thank you to our Board of Trustees for your commitment to recruiting, retaining, and rewarding the very best.

Dedicated to Excellence. ๐Ÿพ

๐Ÿพ Welcome to the Bearcat Family, Kristy Smith!

We are so thrilled to introduce Kristy Smith, who is joining PPISD as a SPED Resource Inclusion Teacher at the Elementary Campus!

Kristy comes to us from Madison, Mississippi, bringing a heart full of purpose and a rรฉsumรฉ that reflects it. A graduate of Millsaps College and Ole Miss, she has spent her career helping students discover their potential and build genuine confidence in themselves โ€” and before she ever stepped into a classroom, she spent six years as a houseparent at the Baptist Children's Village, helping care for and mentor more than 50 children. That kind of dedication doesn't come from a job description. It comes from character.

What drew Kristy to Pilot Point? The community. The commitment to students. And the warmth she felt the moment she walked in for her interview. We're so glad that visit left an impression โ€” because she left one on us too.

Outside of school, Kristy's greatest joy is her family. She's a proud mom of four โ€” Richard and Katie are wrapping up their senior years in college, while McKenzie (a high school junior) and Tyler (an 8th grader) are keeping things busy at home. She'll be the first to tell you: there's no greater honor than being a mom. ๐Ÿงก

Welcome to Pilot Point, Kristy โ€” you already feel like a Bearcat! ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿงก

๐Ÿพ Welcome BACK to the Bearcat Family, Amanda White!

Some stories are just too good not to share โ€” and this is one of them.

We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Amanda White back to PPHS as a High School Math Teacher! That's right โ€” this isn't an introduction, it's a reunion. Amanda taught at Pilot Point High School from 1990 to 2012, and after more than a decade away, she is coming home for Round 2. ๐Ÿงก

Amanda was born and raised in Mississippi before transplanting to Texas in 1990 โ€” and Pilot Point clearly got a hold of her heart and never let go. Her children grew up in this community and graduated from PPHS, each with their own unique and amazing Bearcat experience. Now? It was simply time to come back.
And it gets even better: Amanda's daughters will also be teaching in the district this year. A family of Bearcat educators. We genuinely love to see it. ๐Ÿ–ค

In the classroom, Amanda brings a passion for math, a lifelong love of learning, and over two decades of experience shaping young minds โ€” plus a whole new set of perspectives and experiences to bring back with her. Outside of school, she is soaking up every moment with her children and grandchildren, plus camping, biking, catching live music, and poolside hangs whenever possible. โ˜€๏ธ

She left us with this, and we think it says it all: "Thank you for welcoming me back home โ€” and it's never too late to learn new things."

Welcome home, Amanda. Once a Bearcat, Always a Bearcat. ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿงก

๐Ÿพ Welcome to the Bearcat Family, Amy Dempsey!

We are beyond excited to introduce Amy Dempsey, who is joining PPISD as our Speech-Language Pathologist at the Early Childhood Campus!

Amy brings an extraordinary depth of experience โ€” 30 years as a school-based SLP right here in Texas โ€” along with a personal story that shapes everything she does. As a parent of children with autism, Amy knows firsthand how transformative communication support can be for kids and families. That lived experience turned into a lifelong calling, and our ECC students are going to feel that passion every single day.

After spending time in a large district setting, Amy was ready for something different โ€” a smaller, collaborative team where she could make a deep and meaningful impact. That search led her to Pilot Point, and we couldn't be more grateful.

When she's not working with students, you might catch Amy at a concert ๐ŸŽถ, lifting weights ๐Ÿ’ช, diving into a podcast, or getting lost in a good book. (And if you want to win her over fast โ€” throw on some late '90s to 2010s alternative rock. She's a fan.)

Welcome home to PPISD, Amy. We are so glad you're here! ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿงก

๐Ÿพ Welcome to the Bearcat Family, Jadyn Nwogbo!

We are so excited to introduce Jadyn Nwogbo, who is joining PPISD as a UNT Resident in our Special Education Department!
Jadyn is currently studying at the University of North Texas and chose Pilot Point ISD after doing her homework โ€” researching the district, scrolling our social media (hi, Jadyn! ๐Ÿ‘‹), and talking with others who had nothing but great things to say. She wanted a supportive, welcoming environment where she could grow as an educator, and we love that she found that here.

Teaching has always been Jadyn's passion โ€” and here's a fun fact that makes total sense: every single job she's ever had has involved working with children. Some people are just meant for this work. ๐ŸŽ

When she's not in the classroom, you'll find Jadyn getting creative with crafts or curled up with a good book ๐Ÿ“šโœ‚๏ธ.

Jadyn, we are so glad your research led you to us. We can't wait to grow right alongside you!
