My original patterns for knitting with looms of all gauges and sizes. Years ago, my children gave me a simple set of Knifty Knitter round looms for Christmas.

I quickly fell in love with the ability to create beautiful items. Through the years, I have loomed on just about every type of loom that is made and have enjoyed creating new items and new stitches. Most of my patterns assume the loomer has the basic knowledge of loom knitting....how to cast on and some basic stitches like the e-wrap and purl. But anything more complicated that that is fully expl

Bird of Paradise Shawl
https://daynascolesdesigns.etsy.com/listing/248203892

This beautiful shawl is knit on the All-N-One loom using approximately 560 yards of a worsted weight yarn. The yarn used in this sample was Red Heart with Love in the Fruit Punch color way.

The Bird of Paradise Shawl is knit on the bias using the techniques of modular knitting. The pattern has 2 sections. Each section has a 2 row repeat. Boom! That's it. 4 rows to master this shawl.

The 23-page pattern includes easy-to-follow color photo tutorials of:
Make 1
Make 2
k2tog
k2tog, k2tog
and the Modular Knitting Technique used to create this shawl.
The photo tutorials make up the bulk of this pattern so you know exactly what you need to do in those 4 rows of knitting. :)

As an added bonus, the pattern includes instructions for a variation on a 41-peg Knifty Knitter round loom using a bulky weight yarn to make a beautiful Bird of Paradise scarf.

The beauty of this pattern is that you can knit this design on any size loom with any weight yarn. You simply knit away on Section 1 until you've used half of your yarn and then start on Section 2.

Not Your Grandma's Dishcloth
https://daynascolesdesigns.etsy.com/listing/4436849687

After translating the old standard Grandmother’s Dishcloth pattern for loom knitters, I realized there were improvements I wanted to make that would change the entire construction of the corner-to-corner dishcloth and achieve a more modern look without the eyelets and garter bumps on the edges. This dishcloth is the result of that vision.

Not Your Grandma's Dishcloth is knit on any 3/8" gauge loom with a minimum of 60 pegs and uses approximately 90 yards of a worsted weight [4] cotton yarn.

The pattern includes a photo tutorial to help you visualize the "make 1" instruction. The pattern also includes my little hack for speeding up the "u2tog" and "p2tog" steps.

This pattern is suitable for an intermediate loom knitter.

GRANDMA'S FAVORITE DISHCLOTH - LOOM KNITTER'S VERSION
FREE PATTERN
General Note:
This dishcloth has been around for years. It goes by many different names: Grandmother’s Favorite Dishcloth, Sugar & Cream Dishcloth, Corner to Corner Dishcloth, and others. This pattern also shows up in a larger version to make a blanket. The oldest version I found in a web archive has the words, “Designer: Unknown”. As such, I never found one person whose permission I needed to translate this pattern for loom knitters. My apologies to the original creator!

Loom: 3/8” gauge loom with a minimum of 54 pegs

Yarn: worsted weight [4] yarn

Finished Size: 8” x 8”

Definitions:
p = purl
u = u-knit stitch
yo = “yarn over”. This increases one stitch in the row. Place the working yarn in front of the indicated peg (think of it as laying the “yarn over” the peg). That’s it! Do not work any stitch on this peg at this point. Continue on per the instructions with the next peg. In the “Increases Section” of this pattern, the “yarn over” occurs in the middle of a row and adds one stitch to the row. As such, every stitch that is worked prior to the yarn over must be moved out to the next adjacent, empty peg. For example, if the row says “u2, yo, u to the end”, you would u-knit peg 1 and move over to next adjacent, empty peg. Then u-knit peg 2 and move it to the empty peg beside it. This gives you an empty peg 3 and allows you to “yarn over” peg 3. Then u-knit the remaining stitches.

u2tog = “u-knit 2 together”. This decreases one stitch in the row. In this pattern, the loops on two pegs will be knit together as one to decrease the number of stitches. For example, if you are to u2tog on pegs 2 and 3, move the loop from peg 2 to peg 3. U-knit the two loops on peg 3 as though they were one. Then move the loop from peg 1 in to the now-empty peg 2 and close up the gap.

p2tog = “purl 2 together”. This decreases one stitch in the row. In this pattern, the loops on two pegs will be knit together as one to decrease the number of stitches. For example, if you are to p2tog on pegs 2 and 3, move the loop from peg 2 to peg 3. Purl the two loops on peg 3 as though they were one. Then move the loop from peg 1 in to the now-empty peg 2 and close up the gap.

yo/u2tog = “yarn over, u-knit 2 together”.
This creates an eyelet over 2 pegs.
To do a yo/u2tog, you’ll have loops already on pegs 1 and 2.
Move the loop from peg 1 to peg 2.
Your loom should now have two loops on peg 2 and an empty peg 1.
Place the working yarn in front of the empty peg 1 (this is the “yarn over”); then
u-knit off the two loops that are on peg 2 as though they were one.

yo/p2tog = “yarn over, purl 2 together”.
This creates an eyelet over 2 pegs.
To do a yo/p2tog, you’ll have loops already on pegs 1 and 2.
Move the loop from peg 1 to peg 2.
Your loom should now have two loops on peg 2 and an empty peg 1.
Place the working yarn in front of the empty peg 1 (this is the “yarn over”); then
purl off the two loops that are on peg 2 as though they were one.

bbo = Basic Bind Off
Step 1: E-wrap and knit peg 1.
Step 2: E-wrap and knit peg 2.
Step 3: Move the loop from peg 2 on top of the loop on peg 1. Knit over.
Step 4: Move the new loop from peg 1 to peg 2. (if you are binding off 1 stitch, end here)
Step 5: E-wrap and knit peg 3.
Step 6: Move the loop from peg 3 on top of the loop on peg 2. Knit over. (if you are binding off 2 stitches,
end here)
Step 7: E-wrap and knit peg 4.
Step 8: Move the loop from peg 4 on top of the loop on peg 3. Knit over. (if you are binding off 3 stitches,
end here)
Continue this process until you have bound off the required number of stitches. If you are casting off,
continue this process until you have just one loop left on the loom.
Step 9: Cut the yarn leaving a 3” tail. E-wrap the final peg, knit over and pull the tail end through.

Blue Mesa Beanie
https://www.daynascolesdesigns.com/listing/924413388

Beginner friendly! Loom knit this warm Blue Mesa Beanie for yourself or a friend! If you know how to e-wrap knit and how to purl, you can make this great hat.

The Blue Mesa Beanie is knit on a 3/4” gauge, 40-peg round loom. The Knitting Board's Adjustable Multi-Knit loom was used for the sample. This hat uses approximately 85 yards of a super bulky yarn. James C. Brett’s Rustic Mega Chunky yarn in the CS21 colorway was used in the sample.

This hat is easy to knit and can be created in no time at all!

Loom knit this thick, warm, head-hugging beanie and your ears will not get cold! Perfect for a man or a woman. Perfect even if you aren’t skiing at Arapaho Basin (affectionately known as “A-Basin”).

The A-Basin Beanie is knit on any 5/8” gauge round loom (like the 48-peg purple Knifty Knitter loom) and uses approximately 75 yards of a super bulky yarn.

This hat is easy to knit and can be created in just one evening!

The pattern is suitable for a novice loom knitter.

Eyelet Moss Beanie
Pattern link: https://daynascolesdesigns.etsy.com/listing/1856235114

The Eyelet Moss Beanie is a gorgeously textured beanie that you'll love knitting and wearing. This hat has a unique crown that can only be created using the Flexee Loom Links Skinny loom. My special double decreasing crown technique is most suited to an intermediate loom knitter. This design makes a really cute "+" on the top of the hat and the crown doesn't "swirl" like so many decreasing crown designs do.

The main stitch pattern in the hat body is the Eyelet Moss Stitch. Though the pattern fully explains how to knit this stitch pattern, you can also see it demonstrated here: Eyelet Moss Stitch for Loom Knitters: https://youtu.be/GsdpDEgpnRo

The Eyelet Moss Beanie uses approximately 160 yards [4] medium weight yarn. I Love This Yarn by Hobby Lobby in Lavender Smoke was used in sample.

The pattern is suitable for an intermediate loom knitter.

Spring Stroller Blanket
Pattern link: https://daynascolesdesigns.etsy.com/listing/172942030

This lightweight 32" x 32" stroller blanket is knit as a flat panel on a 3/4" gauge serenity loom with a minimum of 74 pegs. The blanket features a mock crochet stitch. The stitch is completely explained in the pattern.

The mock crochet stitch makes a pretty design and adds a nice scalloped edging along the sides of the blanket. You can leave the cast on and cast off straight edges as they are, or you can add the ruffled edging that is detailed in this pattern as well.

This stroller blanket uses approximately 550 yards of any soft worsted weight yarn.

Pinehurst Hat
pattern link: https://daynascolesdesigns.etsy.com/listing/4384824809

The Pinehurst Hat is a richly textured unisex hat. The pattern includes instructions to make a beanie (the green hat) or a winter stocking hat (the gold hat).

The Beanie: This hat has a unique crown which can only be created using the Flexee Loom Links Skinny loom. My special double decreasing crown technique is most suited to an intermediate loom knitter. This design makes a really cute "+" on the top of the hat and the crown doesn't "swirl" like so many decreasing crown designs do. The green hat is an example of this style.

The Winter Stocking Hat: The pattern also includes instructions to create a stocking hat-type winter hat from this same gorgeous pattern. This alternate bind off is easier than the double decreasing crown technique and would be more suited to a confident novice loom knitter. The gold hat is an example of this style.

The Pinehurst uses approximately 190 yards of a [4] medium weight yarn. Perfection by Kraemer Yarns, 30% Merino wool/70% acrylic, in the Alligator colorway was used in the beanie sample. Deborah Norville Everyday Yarn, 100% acrylic, in the Mustard colorway was used in the winter hat sample.

Because of the short row construction of the beanie, the pattern is suitable for an intermediate loom knitter.

The Cove Beach Hat features the seafoam stitch pattern and is knit on a 48-peg 5/8” gauge loom (the purple 48-peg Knifty Knitter round adult hat loom). The hat uses approximately 250 yards of a worsted weight yarn.

The pattern is suitable for an advanced beginner loom knitter.

Simple Square Table Scarf
https://daynascolesdesigns.etsy.com/listing/506990067

I created this scarf because I wanted a cute table scarf that would lay flat and whose edges didn’t roll. The result is a table scarf that is knit with the Figure 8 cast on and stitch. The pattern has step by step instructions and a diagram to teach even the novice loom knitter how to cast on and knit in this stitch pattern.

The navy Simple Square Table Scarf was knit with Herrschners Worsted 8 yarn, a worsted weight yarn.

The pattern includes instructions to make whatever size you want….that let’s you design and make your own table runner, coasters, placemats…whatever you can imagine!

Wild Horse Hat
https://daynascolesdesigns.etsy.com/listing/549540070

The Wild Horse Hat is knit on any 3/8” gauge round loom with an even number of pegs….for example, the All N One loom, Knitting Board’s Adjustable Hat Loom, or Knitting Board’s Premium Round loom.

This hat uses a total of 200 yards of a worsted weight (4) yarn: 100 yards for the top color (pink in sample), 50 yards for the brim color (gray in sample), and 50 yards for the center color (white in sample).

The pattern also includes specific instructions for knitting this hat with bulky [5] yarn on a 48-peg 5/8" gauge loom.

The pattern is suitable for an advanced beginner.
