Save this Road-trip in the Canadian Rockies to the most beautiful lakes in the world less than 2 hours apart!!

1. Emerald Lake

- Located in Yoho National Park, this lake is a true gem. The lake is located right next to the parking lot, so it is accessible to everyone. There is a lakeside trail that takes about an hour or you can just hang out by the lodge, eat at the restaurant or rent a canoe!
2. Peyto Lake

- This lake is located along the Icefield Parkway between Banff and Jasper.. There is a viewing deck about 10 minutes from the parking lot or you can hike along the series of trails overlooking Peyto Lake. My favourite spot is about 800m past the viewing deck where you will find some gorgeous rock lookouts. You can also choose to hike 2.4km up to the Bow Summit viewpoint from here.

3. Lake Ohara
- This lake is in Yoho National Park close to the town of Field and is one of the hardest to get to on my list. You can take a shuttle to the base of the lake, but the shuttle operates by a lottery system really early in the year. Alternatively, you can walk the 11km one way paved road to the base of the lake. Once at the lake there are dozens of gorgeous trails, so I would recommend trying to secure a camping spot and shuttle.

4. Lake Louise
- this is one of the most famous and busy lakes in Canada and is located in Banff National Park. You can either drive there and pay the $37 parking fee or take a shuttle from the town for $11 each way. There is free parking after 7pm too. Once at Lake Louise, you can hang out lake side, canoe, or hike to some epic viewpoints or the Lake Agnes Teahouse.

5. Moraine Lake
Moraine is one of the mkst beautiful and popular lakes in the rockies. You used to be able to drive to Moraine Lake, but now you have to shuttle there as it simply got too busy due to the amount of tourists flocking to this spot. There are numerous shuttles you can book with, but make sure to book early if you have a specific date in mind and if you want to go for sunrise. While at the lake make sure to go to the iconic rock pile for your iconic shots and then you can walk along the shoreline trail! 04/09/2025
