Trellis For Tomorrow

Did you know sugar snap peas have a secret superpower? 🫛✨

The peas attract aphids, and the aphids attract the ladybugs. These ladybugs will then spread from the peas and eat other soft-bodied pest insects on the farm. So even though peas might not be the best or most productive crop, they're good to have around for the health of every other crop! 🐞

We hosted our very first Tree Pruning and Cloning workshop on Saturday at the Agricultural Learning Center 🌳🍐

Sam and Jason led the group through the basics of fruit tree pruning, and everyone got to take home their own fruit tree cuttings!

The first week of SEED Skills was a blooming success! 🌸

The crews kicked off the summer at the Walnut Street and Rolling Hills gardens in Pottstown, diving straight into their hands-on garden management experiences. Out of the heat, they engaged in sessions around communication skills, land stewardship, and nutrition (featuring some tasty apple donuts!).

SEED Skills is an “earn as you learn” opportunity for youth ages 13-18 to sharpen their leadership, communication, and work skills through learning to manage an organic garden and delivering healthy and nutritious produce to surrounding communities.

2026 GROW Careers Spotlight: Sabrina Boulware 🪴

Sabrina is joining Trellis for Tomorrow's Center for Plant Excellence at Lundale Farms. Together with the Trellis team, Sabrina will be exploring youth-led business ideas that lean heavily on new science, novel ideas, and outside-the-box thinking!

Sabrina shares that she is looking forward to expanding her plant knowledge during her GROW Careers experience. Fun fact about Sabrina: her favorite book is Moon Palace by Paul Auster!

The SEED Skills crew are crushing it at the Rolling Hills garden! 🪴SEED Skills is an “earn as you learn” opportunity for youth ages 13-18 to sharpen their leadership, communication, and work skills through learning to manage an organic garden and delivering healthy and nutritious produce to surrounding communities.

Summer nights, local brews, and a little friendly rivalry. The 2026 Trellis Garden Games (hosted by Sly Fox) are officially back on July 9th!

Gather your favorite team of 4 (ages 10+) for an evening of backyard-style games and community fun, all for a great cause. Not feeling competitive? Grab a General Admission ticket, bring your lawn chair, cheer on your friends, and enjoy the vibes!
