June 14: Honoring Our Army and Our Flag 🇺🇸

Today, we celebrate two enduring symbols of American strength, sacrifice, and unity.

🎖️On June 14, 1775, the United States Army was established, beginning a proud legacy of service that continues more than two and a half centuries later.

🇺🇸 On June 14, 1777, the Continental Congress adopted the Stars and Stripes as the official flag of the United States, creating a symbol that has inspired generations of Americans.

As we honor the Army's 251st Birthday and celebrate Flag Day, we remember the Soldiers who have defended our nation and the freedoms represented by our flag. Their courage, commitment, and sacrifice have helped preserve the ideals that unite us as Americans.

Today, let us proudly display Old Glory, reflect on our nation's history, and express our gratitude to all who have served.

Happy Birthday, U.S. Army, and Happy Flag Day! 🇺🇸

It was a privilege to hear men and women share their stories of service and personal experiences. Thank you to everyone who joined us and to those who continue to strengthen our community through fellowship, support, and service.

We also engaged in a meaningful discussion regarding VA healthcare, benefits, and available resources. Three Veterans brought their DD214s, allowing us to assist them with completing their VA enrollment forms and connecting them with the services for which they may be eligible.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Adela Cornejo and the Avondale Resource Center for their continued dedication and commitment to serving Veteran seniors and their Families. We are also deeply appreciative of our volunteers, whose compassion and efforts helped ensure that every Veteran left feeling seen, heard, supported, and remembered.
