Well friends, sometimes life has other plans.

Due to an unexpected air conditioning failure at The Gritty Mare, we will only be open tomorrow, Saturday, June 20th, for the pickup of pre-orders. Thankfully, all pre-orders were completed before things got a little too warm around here!

Unfortunately, the rising temperatures made it impossible for some items (especially our cake pops) to set properly, and I had to put a stop to baking for the evening.

The good news? I have plenty of goodies already prepared and waiting in the refrigerator and freezer, ready for when we’re able to get back up and running. We are hopeful we may still be able to offer some refrigerated Father’s Day treats, but that is still to be determined. Stay tuned for updates!

As we settle into Arizona’s triple-digit summer temperatures, you’ll likely see us shift toward more heat-friendly and refrigerated offerings for a while. Our fresh breads may take a temporary summer vacation, but we have lots of ideas for delicious treats that can beat the heat.

Thank you for your patience, support, and understanding. Small businesses sometimes have unexpected hiccups, but we’re not going anywhere. Keep an eye on this page—we have some fun summer offerings in the works, and we can’t wait to welcome you back to the stand soon.

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to participate in a podcast recording, sharing our story of childhood cancer and our goals for the Grit and Glory Ranch, on the Help and Hope Happen Here podcast with Mark Levine. I am extremely grateful for this new and exciting experience. Today, I spent time making cake pops/sickles for our bakestand on Saturday, finishing two flavors and preparing to make at least two more. Don't forget to stop by and enjoy a treat! ❤️

So...I have just opened a preorder for next Saturday, June 20th, for sourdough. THIS WEEKEND, if you have a request for a flavor you don't see , reach out to me and we'll see if we can make it happen! We will have more items, the preorder are only for bread ❤️

We will also have Cake Pops for Pops! since it will be Father's Day weekend amongst other items!

If you have other ideas you'd like to see, we can't accommodate all, but are absolutely open to ideas! Feel free to reach out! ❤️

At 3:00 pm, preorders open specifically for 5 different flavors of sourdough bread this Saturday, May 23! We will have a stand full of goodies including traditional cookout sides, sweets and more! The s'mores bread was a hit! 🥰

This weekend (or today rather) is for pre orders only while we wrap up some of the kids' activities. We will have a bigger Memorial Day menu for this upcoming holiday weekend so watch for a pre order post and we will put extras out as well this upcoming weekend!

We are opening preorders for bread and jam this week! Pick up will be Saturday, May 16th at our porch bakestand! We have added an Italian Herb and Cheese Sourdough loaf this week as well as our original and jalapeño cheddar. We also have blackberry jalapeño jam, summer berry jam, mango jam and strawberry rhubarb!
