S.A.I.L. (Saving Animals In Limbo) - Focusing on animals from the euthanasia list, as well as strays, and finding them their forever homes!
Before getting involved in euthanasia list rescue, Casey and her husband John had already rescued numerous dogs and cats, as well as TNR'ed countless feral cats in Downtown Phoenix. A literal rags to riches story...
Dr Bones was found running the streets with another dog and listed as severely human aggressive at MCACC. Tarah Berry, an amazing woman who took amazing photos of the dogs, alerted me about them. I picked them up to find two very kind and loving dogs that really needed a warm place to sleep and some good food.
Fast forward, Dr Bones became Gunner and for the last few years, has been a part of an amazing family thanks to Terry Tuznik. Gunner succumbed to cancer yesterday and we are so sad for him and his family.
You were a good boy. We’re glad your life was filled with so much love. ❤️

Ducky (shown here) came into the rescue just after Easter 5 years ago. She was given to children as an Easter gift but as she grew, the novelty wore off and, truthfully, ducks are messy. She was fully imprinted and believes she is a person. Ducky was terrified of other ducklings, even ones smaller than her. Luckily, one of our volunteers adopted her.
Ducklings in this situation learn to rely on humans for food. This cannot be changed or altered. Releasing them at the nearest pond is irresponsible behaviour. They may not be accepted by other ducks and cannot survive on their own.
As cute as ducklings (and chicks) are, please do not purchase them for Easter.
