Want to meet the photographer behind these stunning photos? You're in luck! Joel Sartore, renowned , photographer and conservationist, is visiting the Phoenix Zoo on Friday, October 16, for a special fundraising event benefiting the future Doornbos Animal Rescue and Care Center, a dedicated facility for housing wildlife from the illegal animal trafficking trade.
Guests have the chance to see animals up close, enjoy hors d’oeuvres and beverages, view the curated exhibition and see an inspiring presentation by the artist himself, with a meet-and-greet option available for purchase.

About the Exhibition: Sartore’s inspiring portfolio includes images of endangered species and landscapes that show a world worth saving. It's National Fox Day, but it looks like Hunter might sleep straight through it 😴
Hunter, the nine-year-old fennec fox, may look perpetually tired, but he's just nocturnal! You can typically find him awake in the morning when his keepers service his habitat, feed him and leave him some enrichment items, but if he's asleep, he is usually curled up in his den on the right side of the habitat. Sweet dreams, Hunter! 💤
Fynn found the stripes and thinks they’re delicious! His cookie was made with leaf-cutter biscuit topped with yam stripes!

The Phoenix Zoo is excited to announce that we welcomed 34 endangered black-footed ferret kits across seven litters this summer, marking the most successful breeding season in the last 25 years! As one of only five breeding facilities worldwide supporting the recovery of this once-extinct-in-the-wild species, the Zoo's record-setting season represents a major conservation milestone and offers a powerful success story about species recovery in North America.

Happy Birthday weekend to China and Enik! 🎉
China (tan) turned 25 and her brother Enik (black) turned 23. The buff-cheeked gibbons are known for their loud calls that can be heard throughout Papago Park. Did you know that they can swingf up to 40 feet between branches while they are high up in the trees?
