This week 30 prevention pros made history…

Vive18 brought us together to host the very first prevention conference on a cruise ship.

If done correctly, this one innovation of a conference venue would…

Reduce cost of an educational conference by $1,000 per person
Enhance the quantity and quality of connections with peers
Increase access to industry experts, speakers & trainers
Provide 10-20 CEUs for professional development
Facilitate international support & collaboration for prevention

But most importantly, it would provide a tangible “thank you” for passionate people who work impossibly hard (for very little pay), all to bring life-saving programs to their community. And they’re usually not thanked enough for it.

As the person who asked people to take a risk on this new idea… I was grateful hear an echo throughout the week of “I’ve been going to prevention conferences for X years, and this is the best one” and things like “How did you get ALL of these incredible trainers to spend all week with us?!”

I could not have done this without Mitchell Moore. He kept me going when the planning got rough, got all the CEUs taken care of, helped with the training sessions immensely, served as my co-host, set up an environmental scan, and made a Proclamation with Bermudas Minister of Safety!

Shoutout to for hands on help all week and all the pros that took this risk and trainers that gave so generously. 🥰
