As Route 66 approaches its 100th anniversary, we’ve been sharing the people, places, and unforgettable moments that make the “Mother Road” so iconic. From ghost towns and roadside legends to family memories and hidden gems, Arizona’s stretch of Route 66 continues to connect generations.

A little Hollywood history hiding along Route 66 👀

This room in Oatman is said to be where Clark Gable stayed during his honeymoon with Carole Lombard.

Standing here, it’s easy to imagine the charm of old Arizona when mining towns were bustling and Route 66 was the road to adventure.

Adding to the story—these photos also include their marriage certificate from nearby Kingman, connecting this legendary love story even deeper to Arizona history.

From movie legends to dusty desert roads, Oatman proves the Mother Road is full of unforgettable stories waiting behind every door.

Tonight was exceptional, conducting live shots for our newscasts over 200 feet beneath the surface at the Grand Canyon Caverns located off Route 66 in Peach Springs.
