We hink about what it takes to support artists in shaping new languages and symbols of meaning—in short, to help us imagine anew. I am disappointed at the $50,000 grants from large funders because this money does little to transform the material living conditions of artists, and a one-year investment is more self-congratulatory than impactful. Another financial calculation is required; here's the most conservative financial investment funding orgs should commit to for lasting impact for artists.

Thrilled to be working on a new project in the US/MX borderlands about climate change and the right to remain/housed. The newest trend in displacement / gentrification will be Green/Resilient infrastructure that prices out low-income homeowners and tenants---Impacting people of the global majority and poor folx more than anyone.
