On June 20, 1990, Motorcycle Officer Patrick O. Briggs was killed while pursuing a speeding motorist. Officer Briggs swerved to avoid a motorist and struck a concrete median and tree. Officer Briggs was twenty-seven years old at the time of death and had been a member of the department for seven years. He was survived by his parents.

Motor-driven cycles are not toys — they come with real, life-changing risks. Riders must have a valid license with a motorcycle endorsement. Registration and insurance are required. Riders under 18 must wear a helmet and protective eyewear and are required to obey all traffic laws.

When a mobile home caught fire in central Phoenix, officers and firefighters worked together to save four dogs and a turtle trapped inside. Thanks to the teamwork and fast response, everyone made it out safely. 🚔🚒❤

On June 16, 1975, Officer Gilbert Chavez was shot and killed by a juvenile during a burglary of a Phoenix radiator business. Officer Chavez had been with the agency for one year. At the time of his death, he was survived by his wife.
