Happy first day of school! This week, ACCEL students at our East, Metro, and Buckeye campuses are starting a new year that will be full of so much good work. It's another opportunity to build on skills they're already growing, meet peers who get it, and work with teachers and other experts who show up ready to meet them exactly where they are. We can't wait to see what ACCEL students accomplish this year 🎉

School starts on Monday! We're so excited to provide the right environment, tools, and expertise to help more students have more experiences like this one.

Communication is not only about spoken words! It's about a participant successfully getting an idea from their head into someone else's. Our speech-language pathologists (SLPs) work in whatever mode helps a participant communicate reliably. A reach toward a snack is real communication just like using a communication device to ask for the snack, signing for the snack, or saying the word "snack."

Bikes are for everyone!

Adaptation helps our participants have the experiences they deserve regardless of where their strengths lie.

Whether you're moving the bike with your arms or your legs, with two, three, or four wheels, with someone else or on your own....you're riding a bike! We love finding ways to adapt toys, events, and games so our participants have more opportunities to have fun.

It's easy to save the celebration for the big milestones. But independence is built in small moments like a skill learned, a task done solo, or simply a little more confidence than the day before. Every win matters, because every win moves someone closer to the life they're working towards.

Behind every classroom at ACCEL, there's a team working to make sure the lessons reach every student. Our adaptation team individualizes classroom materials so they align with the same themes and academic lessons as everyone else, just built in the way each student needs to access them.
